Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Re: Arrogance

What freaks me out is to see certain Apostolic/Pentecostal preachers out without their wives and they are extremely friendly to me or to us (Eddie & I). Of course they look like every other man in the restaurant or store. But when their wives are with them, they treat me totally different. Very weird. It has happened more than once. I just act like I think they like me anyway!

This concept is bred throughout congregations, knowingly or unknowingly because not only will pastors preach against, talk against and rail against not only mainstream churches, but the dead, dry, boring Apostolic churches* across the city.

Therefore, because saints have been conditioned to believe their own church is the best church in the city, all other folks who do not attend that church are either compromisers, or of a lesser apostolic breed.

The church I am privileged to pastor IS the best church in the city.............................................. ..........

for many people........but not all!

I try my best to not be offended when someone leaves and I NEVER mention it from the pulpit. I truly wish folks godspeed when they leave. That is something I didn't get when I left a certain well known organization.

I am glad that I am no longer in the UPC.

I would have never in my wildest dreams; think that I would ever be Ex-UPC.

Interesting.

If they looked and behaved just like them, then why would they do that? One would think that If a group of apostolics came into a restaurant and saw other apostolics who looked and behaved just like them, that they wouldn't look down their noses at them?

I'm thinking there is more to this than what was just stated above?
