Try this: Log out and close all instances (Windows) of Internet Explorer. Reopen an IE window (assumiing AFF is not your home page) and dump the browser cache.
To "dump the cache" click TOOLS near the top of the window and then select INTERNET OPTIONS and delete Browsing History and Cookies and such (depending upon the version of IE).

Try dumping whatever cache you've got. It may also be a browser specific thing so you may want to report it to the appropriate browser cult authorities. Mention vBulletin. Or not, you seem busy.
I think it's a good idea to have IE and another browser if windows is your OS. If you need to get a fix on the internet and your other browser does not work you can use the other browser, plus you can use IE to update windows
