if baptism is nothing more than public profession then these certainly are that.
if you blieve that baptism has a greater role to play in the life of a believe than a simple public profession, then by far this is a stinch in the nostrils of God.

The baptisms do appear as almost a mockery of the traditional baptisms we are accustomed to.

Kids baptizing in a pool doesn't count? I think all my cousins need to be rebaptized then, because I'm pretty sure I baptized all of them when we were kids, some of them multiple times.

This certainly becomes a problem for all the Dogs and Cats on the hill....
the hill, is what we call the old home place where I grew up. I helped save a lot of pets baptizing them!
Now Brother Epley suggests those baptisms were not efficacious?
my my.

And speaking of following anything that is supernatural..... So true! Just look at the John Edwards and Silvia Browns of the world. Even Uri Geller -who has been proven over and over to be a illusionist, and not a good one, still passes himself off as the real deal.
Then there is the whole "word of knowledge" thing that some traveling evangelists like to use...... Yeek! No one DARES to question that!
I actually agree with this, I think that God will be the final judge, and we might be surprised by some of His decisions.
However, I don't think that that lets us off the hook as far as following His Word. We still must do what we know to do from the scripture.
