Esther,

Excellent questions!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: In The Counsel of Many

Bro. Larry, I have to disagree with this statement.

9. What is the cause for some Christians to have encounters with spirits attacking them while others don’t?

People can become so focused on fighting demons that the demons are able to deceive them more readily. It makes demons able to become more realistic in that person’s mind. No demon can materialize and physically attack a human. Signs of physical signs of attack on a person, are not made by direct contact with a demon spirit. You cannot see a spirit with your physical eyes.

I know of a lady minister that was physically drug out of bed by demons!

I have heard people say they have seen demons with their physical eyes.

How would they know when they see a demon if it is their natural eyes or spiritual eyes?

BTW...thanks for your response. I haven't finished reading all of them yet.

Re: In The Counsel of Many

2. How can you determine if you are dealing with a person who is demon possessed, demon oppressed or a human spirit?

This one is a fairly simple one. (I have not read the book so I don't know what their answer was.)

There are only 3 spirits at work in this world, the spirit of God, demonic spirits, and human spirits. God always has dominion over demonic spirits. The human spirit on the other hand is not subject to the spirit of God unless surrendered/submitted. So...... if a person is "demonstrating" demonic actions i.e. rolling on the floor, flopping around, frothing at the mouth, etc. all you have to do is speak to the spirit to cease/stop whatever it is doing/saying and if it is a demonic spirit it MUST obey. It has no choice, for a demonic spirit is subject to God and as his child I therefore have the same dominion over them. (Show me even one example of a demon refusing the command of Jesus or one of the Apostles.)

If the activity does not cease, you are dealing with a human spirit, not a demon.

Thanks.

These are questions I have been asked many times and have heard others ask. I even asked a number of people what are the questions they most would like an answer to, and included them in this list.

BUT not everyone wants to answer them. The other problem I see, is folks tend to want to answer according to the "politically" correct. That is why I have selected the ones I have to answer. I want "their" answers. Although, on some of the questions I'm not sure they all answered how they really feel on some of the questions.

You are on target without a doubt.

However, the Apostles try and deliver the boy that was throwing himself into the fire and Jesus was the only one able to deliver him, and then He said these kind come out ONLY by prayer and fasting?

People can actually entertain speaking and thinking so much about satan that they are taken over by his spirit. Because of this focus, they believe they have seen the devil when it is a dream or a vision. Yes, the woman may have thought she was dragged out of bed because the evil spirit was so strong within her. I do not believe this would photograph in reality even though the woman felt she was being dragged out of bed.

I do not believe in seeing demons or ghosts with ones actual eyes. It is all in the spirit world.... good or bad.
