I just got back from having my clinical evaluation. This means that I was being graded based on my clinical performance in a hospital setting, where I acted in the RN role for 96 hours over a period of two weeks. It also includes the paperwork I had to complete where I describe my actions in certain situations and evaluation of my own performance, as well as journaling and my philosophy of nursing with personal definitions.
Knowing that my preceptor (the nurse following me throughout the clinical experience) had awesome things to say about me, and her evaluations of me throughout the clinical were top of the line, I waited to see what my instructor would say about my paperwork and what she saw of me during clinical.
She graded me quite high on mostly everything, and what she graded me at acceptable level was mainly because as a student, there are some things I cannot be the best at, but I performed at the senior student level.
When all was said and done, my score was 93.2%. Had I gotten a 93.5%, I would have gotten an A!! Just barely missed it.
But I really don't care. Just that I passed is good enough for me!!
Nothing left to do but attend graduation now!
And I received a gift from the mental health instructor today...a photo flip-chart for pictures.
I have thank you cards to write out between tonight and tomorrow, and I'm glad part of my life is over!!
