I understand it to be One God who has revealed Himself as Father,Son,Holy Ghost.
Since all of the divinity dwells in Jesus Christ He can be Father,Son,Holy Ghost.

People who are always looking for fault,can find it easily all they have to do,is look into their mirror.
There they can find plenty of fault.
Jesus Came (or was sent depending on your stripe), so our teeny finite, small peanut brains could have an understanding of God. We can ONLY know God through Jesus. There is no other way, this is why he came. This is who he is. This is why he was tempted, this is why he shed his blood. This is why he walked among us, JESUS is the only God we could ever be able to know.
I only know Jesus and him Crucified. I am terrified to sit in a place where I think I can define almighty, infinite, abstract, omnipotent, omnicient, omnipresent, manifestation of GOD, and especially to the destruction of others. No way. In order to explain the who, you better be willing to be able to describe the how and why.
I can't do that and I am wary of people who say they can.
We can also know something about God's character, according to the Bible, by what we see happen to the wicked and the righteous in this life. The law of reaping and sowing. The book of Job, the Psalms, and Proverbs are replete in describing the behind the scene work of God that is evident in what we see on the stage of life as the results of a life of wickedness or uprightness: and calls them the judgements of God. We usually say that an evil or good person got their just desserts. Or what goes around, comes around. This is God's doing.
Psalm 9:16The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.
