I am fighting back the tears here...

Shortly before Dad passed, Mom went to see him. He was hallucinating badly. I went along with the hallucination. In a lucid moment, he recognized Mom, and reached out for her. It would be the last time he would probably recognize her.

A few days later, he passed. I weep now at these stories. At his death, Mom released him from their 99 year contract, 66 years early.

Lord, I want a marriage like they had at the end.

I have two relatives who were married for many years who died within months of one another. We freaked out about that but this is amazing!
