Yep, I did see a few that were very YOU-Glay!. I have to be careful and not say, "That's a pretty gun, when talking with my husband."
Once a friend complimented a roast I had baked. I said, "Thank you. It was a beautiful piece of beef." lol
We had all of our beef butchered, growing up and so we were used to looking at it and deciding if we wanted to use it nor not.
He has never let me forget that.

He said he'd rather have a pump action rifle. I used to own a .357 Magnum, but sold it. Wish I would have kept it.
Which would you rather have and if you have/had your choice, which brand, model, etc. would you prefer?
TIA!

Depends on what purpose you want to use it. If you want it for protection at home, then a shot gun would be my best recommendation.
If you want to travel with it (if it's legal in your state), there's a small Glock 9MM made especially for women. Costs about $250.00 at gun shows.
In Texas you can legally carry a hand gun, in your car, you must keep it concealed. You can also get a CCL. for carrying on your person.

I am in Texas.
I'm pretty sure he's going to get a pump rifle. I know that's what he's going to do!

Cheap products, and with the waiting period Wal Mart doesn't want the hassle probably.

I have several guns, and they are mostly all for different things.
For example: A .22 or a traditional shotgun is for hunting small game
A large magnum revolver or a rifled slug barrel shotgun is for hunting deer
A high-powered small caliber rifle is for hunting varmints
A high powered large caliber rifle is for elk, moose, buffalo, lions, tigers, and bears, oh my!
Just about any gun can be considered something fun to shoot with, but the bigger the bang, the more expensive the hobby.
And last but not least, moderate-sized handguns in the middle and upper ranges of cartridge power are for personal protection.
A .357 can be had in a wide variety of sizes and barrel lengths, such that you could get a 2-shot derringer or a 5-shot snub-nosed revolver that isn't fit for shooting at anything more than six feet away, or you can get one with an 8-inch barrel and go hunting for deer or feral hogs.

Generally speaking ladies are much better served by small revolvers. Smith & Wesson makes a very nice line of .38 special, .32 magnum, and .357 magnum revolvers with lightweight aluminum or Scandium/Titanium frames.
Generally speaking knowledgeable people don't like to trust their lives to .22 and .25 caliber handguns, because they aren't very powerful. They can be lethal, sure, but there is more to it than that.
Defenders want their assailants to cease assailing, not to die of infection 4 to 10 days after the confrontation.
Revolvers don't jam and there are no complicated controls for slide release, magazine release, plus anywhere from one to four safeties.
The safety on a revolver is simply the long, stiff trigger pull. They are simple and easy to operate.
In the average defensive situation the defender fires two shots, so you don't need some Glock or Beretta that holds 15 to 21 rounds of ammunition.
At the end of the day the choice is all about what you are comfortable with, and what you can shoot accurately. The most powerful handgun in the world does you no good if you can't hit what you're aimin' at!

Well a pump rifle would be really hard for me to use. And if you get one with a good kick it can bruise you up or in my case knock ya down......... I am a little bitty thing.......
But when I was younger I could shoot a 12 and a 20 gauge shotgun. Really good out here in the country.

We were looking at the guns on the Academy website. I got impatient because he wouldn't explain what he was talking about and kept looking at stuff I wasn't interested it.
