I agree. But there is a more definitive answer.

We all know that the preacher will be standing next to God like an over accomplished teacher's aide with all of the check marks on the clipboard...

Definitively, he may give an account but that account will not save you nor cause you to be lost. Period.

Oh, I forgot. Some actually believe that.

That isn't quite how it goes, God will already know what the person and the Pastor have/haven't done.

Oh I absolutely agree with the passage you quoted. Its the application and generally liberal stretching of the APPLICATION of that passage that I often disagree with.
No one will stand with, or speak on my behalf, when I stand before the Lord.
Not even my pastor.

Exactly what I was just thinking and was going to make the point. You got in ahead of me.

Right. But at some point an account of those who watch for the soul of others will be taken. Scripture never said that would happen at judgment.

Yes it will.
My personal opinion is that we will give an account for the Word we have preached. We will not be held personally responsible for someone who is lost. Each man and woman makes his/her own decisions in response to the gospel.

So, when the rewards are handed out to those who watch over souls will pastors receive them at the same time that satan receives his reward (the lake of fire)??
Satan watches over our souls too, although I doubt that he'll get to give an account...
