Almost every other wedding at JCM, CC1's wife sang "Highly Prized Possession". She was AMAZING!

I first heard that song sung by Sue at Terri Tenney's wedding. The music at that wedding was awesome. That was my first exposure to weddings that were long and filled with music where the bride was not the center of the ceremony...the music was.

Sue was absolutely amazing!

For some reason I thought all the songs in your wedding must have been "sad songs" because ......... I wept through them all!!! Now that I listen to them again [ in a better state of mind ], that wedding was a musical extravaganza!

Three Times A Lady
My Tribute (as we knelt)
played and sang by cousin of groom and good friend

Twelfth of Never (I sang to the groom)
You'll Never Walk Alone (my brother played on sax)

We did the traditional Bridal March and Recessional

You Light Up My Life (played as mother's seated)

I can't remember the song played as candles were lit.

Traditional Wedding March by wagner.
Piano playing while the people standing in for the mothers (both our are gone)
while they put two unity candles together beside the big one.
My treasure-Scott Wesley Brown as the bride came beside me.
Household of Faith by Steve Green sung by best man & his wife as my wife and I lit the big unity candle & signed the register (only for show it was a blank piece of paper we signed the legal document in Pastors office. It is our favourite.

After our vows a good friend sung I will be there by Steven Curtis Chapman.
Traditional recessional by Wagner.

All in all not too bad.

The mothers walked in to Wind beneath my Wings

As that song ended the miniature groom opened the doors and ran in grabbed a huge bell out of his jacket pocket and took off running screaming everyone get up the bride is coming the bride is coming.. while we had 500 some odd shocked and stunned guests not to mention the bride as this was planned by someone else too!

My dad and I walked in to Here and Now and then when he stopped and did the talking part.. we stopped the singing and the pastor asked who gave this woman yada yada yada... then they finished the song.. This was song was done by John Kershaw Susan Kershaw and Dan Dean

Then we had another song which I cant remember the name of cus my pastor and I were in a heated discussion him trying to get me one more time to back out of the wedding before it was too late.. LOL

Then we left to Celebrate.... That was a well... ummm I dont know who picked that song but it wasnt me and it werent no celebration!!

So anywho... The good wedding didnt have no songs... It just had me and my honey and Fresh prince of belaire playing on the tv in the dining room at the JP's house but the best wedding ever!!!

LOL.! our wedding was also short. My husband didn't want it to drag on and on! But I'm telling you, when we stood there listening to Celine Dion sing the Power of Love, that song went on and on and on.

One of the funny things was while we were kneeling and "Here and Now" was playing, we were actually carrying on a conversation and laughing. I didn't realize it till we watched the video and you could see us just talking away!

A blooper at our wedding was when my father in law went to pray for us.... He started to bend over and then right before he started his prayer, his pants split! TOO FUNNY!!! We have laughed about that so much! Instead of him laying his hands on us to pray, he just kinda moved his arm in our direction!

Sooo, I was wondering what songs y'all had in your wedding.

1. The Power of Love
2. Here and Now
3. Up Where We Belong

I didn't even think to ask my pastor about his thoughts on my song selection and I might not have chosen all secular songs if I had it to do over again. But, those were the songs we chose. When I hear them, I can feel every part of the day all over again! All the tears, laughter, and joy that was shared that day! I think I was the only one NOT to cry at my wedding... LordChocolate cried like a baby! LOL

What were your songs? Christian love songs or secular?

Lady by Kenny Rogers ( After 26 years, she is still my lady )

I'll Never Let You Go by Kenny Hinson ( She sang this to me and after 26 years I still wonder why she hasn't let go, she is one in a million )
