Re: Christmas Traditions

We always have a tree. Pat and I got married February 28, 1958. That first Christmas we had a tree. It was about 2-3 feet tall and had a few ornaments and lights. The lights were the kind that burned hot and if one went out they all went out. We still have a few of those ornaments and put them on our tree every year. The lights are long gone. About 3 years ago I bought a pre-lit tree. For the past two years Pat and I have had to have someone come and help us get it out of the basement because it is too bulky and heavy and we are getting older. This year my 14 year old grandson and my 17 year old grand daughter's boyfriend brought it out of the basement. We set it up and then we decorated it with the help of our grandkids.

We always have Christmas Eve at our house with any family members who can make it. Then our children all have Christmas with their families on Christmas Day. This year we had about 20 in our little house for Christmas. Then today we visited two of our children's homes which were within half an hour away.

This year 4 of our 5 children were here. The other son is in NC.

10 of our 13 grandkids were here. The other 3 are in NC.

This year we had a brand new addition. Our first great grandchild, Conner, was born 12/19/08 and he was with us.

Thank you.
What's neat about our family is that they really like each other. When we get together there is not a bunch of strife and hard feelings. We all get along very well.

The three grandchildren that did not get here are all boys. My second son, Kevin who is now 47 years old, has three daughters by his first marriage (they were all here) and three sons by his second marriage. He lives in North Carolina.
