The old whilte-haired preacher lived in Denison, TX and owned a mattress
factory. He would come to the small town and preach on Saturdays and
then began an outdoor revival. He brought a large metal horse watering
tank to baptize his converts, all at his own expense. Although that was
a few years before I was born, the story lingers vividly in my mind due to
having heard it over and over through my early years. I never saw those
days, but I saw the lasting results of those of my family who were there
and responded to the call. I'll forever be thankful for that brother who took
the time and money to invest in our family.

Re: Street Corner Preaching
I don't know, I was baptized in Jesus name because someone spoke to me at the mall, showed me Jesus name baptism in his bible, handed me a tract and invited me to church.
In times when I have drawn close to the Lord in prayer and fasting, he has spoken to my heart to talk to someone and tell them about Jesus.
One time I was driving by a grocery store and God told me to go in and talk to a man there. I walked up and down the aisles till he told me which one. That man was baptized in Jesus name, filled with the Holy Ghost and has gone on to be with the Lord.
Once at work, a man I didn't know came up to me and asked me about Jesus. I told him and invited him to church. When he got in church he won 20+ souls to Christ.
One time I was in bed taking a nap, God woke me up and told me to go to the Christian book store. I went not knowing why i was supposed to go there. When I got there he showed me a woman who was looking for a book and he told me to tell her the gospel.
I think if we are led by the Spirit of God, things will work out ok. This kind of revival only comes by prayer and fasting.

YES, If we are led by the Spirit of God, things WILL happen! We will become His sons and daughters. Yes, IF (conditionally) we are LED by the Holy Ghost(Spirit) of God, things will definitely work out!

Re: Street Corner Preaching
Jesu preached in the streets of the cities.
he preached by the lake, by the mountainside and by the road.
Preaching was mostly done outdoors in the early church.

Re: Street Corner Preaching
Street preaching isn't just about building a church, it's about taking the word of God to all people, and building the church. We may be from different places around the world, but we are still the same church, because the church is the body of christ and a body cannot be divided against itself and still survive. Also, some people wouldn't step foot in a church, but with street preaching they still hear the word of God and are accountable for it. It might even get their mind to working and eventually they may come to God. As for the hell fire preaching, all the people in the world are going to end up there if they don't repent, get baptized in Jesus name, and receive the gift of the holy ghost and continue walking in the spirit. And how are people supposed to know that unless they are told, this being said there is a way to bring this message about with love, instead of hate. Because if it is brought out with hate then the people won't see God within you, since God is love, and they will be discouraged and turn from the message. Even if you think there is no one around to listen to the message there may be someone that hears and the message changes their life, they may run into you one day and tell you that their life was changed because you obeyed God and delivered the message or you may never know in this life just how many people you reached.

Re: Street Corner Preaching
I think most of the time it's a waste of time. But I think it is an improper way to reach people. I see evangelism as more of a one-on-one type of thing. But, if it works for you then do it if isn't against the law or if it won't get your booty busted.

Re: Street Corner Preaching
I believe that some people are called for different
areas of ministry. If it's street corner preaching,
God's annointing will be there and people WILL be
affected. Might not ever know how and what you preached
touched them until you get to Heaven, but,
won't they be glad you preached on that street corner!

Re: Street Corner Preaching
If street preaching is done in love, I believe it will work. But if all one is doing is shouting out hellfire and brimstone.... you won't get many results.
If the Lord has called you to street ministry, by all means follow the leading of the Spirit. But if you are doing it without the direct leading of the Spirit, your efforts will come to naught.
