What do you think of the idea that the PAW is actually moving back toward where they came from? They started out as Trinirarian Pentecostals, became OP's who freely and openly fellowshipped with Trintitarian brethren; but then slowly became isolated from "Christendom" as a whole.

Some regret that isolation today and want to move things back to the way it was in GT Haywood's day. How is that "erasing lines," so to speak? The lines being erased are newer innovations.
There is quite of difference between the founding of the PAW and it's development that was in existance when he died. It was staunch water & Spirit.

Oneness Pentecostal Doctrine

I mean no disrespect when I post this and there are always exceptions to the rule. Most "Trinity" preachers do not preach "The Trinity". In Apostolic Churches - The Doctrine of "The Oneness of God", "Baptism in Jesus Name" and the "Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues" is preached almost every service. You can have 10 or 10,000 and you pretty much are gonna hear THE DOCTRINE. It is woven into almost every single message as it is your Spiritual DNA. It has become your identity. This is why I quit going to your conventions and campmeetings - its the same thing over and over and over again.

My LAST GA District Campmeeting - Billy Davis started the service off with ONE GOD, ONE GOD, ONE GOD, ONE GOD - about a thousand times until he was beet red in the face - beating on the pulpit like a mad man, screaming at the top of his lungs - ONE GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked him later if a Hindu delegation had walked in? He could not get it. I said - Brother Davis, EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THAT BUILDING - BELIEVES THERE IS ONE GOD! It is Sooooooooooooooooooooo redundant. Thank God for the manna - but we have eaten it every day for 40 years. Lets go over into the promise land and eat some FRESH BREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just want you guys to see from anther viewpoint. I have brought A/G, COG, PH, COGIC and other pastors to UPC events only to be totally embarrassed that they were singled out that they were "looking our way" and the big time preacher had to try and CONVINCE THEM that they were WRONG and TRINITY is not in the Bible (they never tell you that ONENESS is not in there either) and then tell them they are LOST FOREVER MORE if they don't get baptized in Jesus name. They KNOW what you believe - that is why they stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the stuff BORAT is made out of!

This is not true in churches outside your movement. Most do not ever deal with The Godhead - because they simply do not understand it. If you ask them do they believe in the Trinity - they will pause and say, well....... yes! But it is not preached. It is not dissected and taken apart and put back together again like Apostolics do. In 51 years of living in Pentecost and 35 years of ministry - I can count on two hands the number of times I have even heard an explanation of The Trinity from a Trinitarian. Now - they may preach it every Sunday at the A/G or COG where you live but I just have not heard it. I was raised Church of God of Prophecy and they are staunch Trinity. I NEVER heard a message on it. I heard F/S/HG mentioned, but never an explanation except for - Billy Graham said The Trinity is incomprehendible.

They are not out there trying to get people RE-BAPTIZED. They do not spend 30 minutes trying to convince you that Jesus Name baptism is WRONG. They just baptize people. They never mention another mode of baptism.

You all know good and well that people that go to "Trinity" Churches - have no clue what the Trinity is and that they have not been baptized as the NT believers were baptized. We have about 98% NON-PENTECOSTAL background in our church. Most were Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Methodist, Church of God - Anderson, IN - NON-Pentecostal. We have people filled almost every service. People just come up to the front and I lay hands on them for healing or prayer for something and they start speaking in tongues - having never experienced it in their lives. I do baptisms every month and baptize people without going into why we don't do it this way and what others believe and all that. I just baptize them!

I know you feel it is your duty to teach them your "Oneness" doctrine before they are baptized but I have other things to preach that are more important to me and them than to spend my time - indoctrinating them in the Hall/Bernard Theology of the Oneness of God.

Our people hear that God is one. God is not three or 9 or 12. They are taught the Revelation of Jesus Christ without the Oneness Pentecostal UPC verbiage of Hall/Bernard and the 20th century Oneness version of God.

God is bigger and better than our version of Him!

AB,
I am not trying to pick a fight but I have a question.

Are you saying it is better to believe something (i.e. the Trinity) and not really know why rather than knowing what you believe and why you believe it (i.e. Oneness)?

Isn't saying that attempting control in beliefs? Saying, " Here this doctrine is true but I really don't know why cause I don't understand it either but it is incomprehensible and just go on faith."

Personally, I would like to know exactly in whom I have believed and why I believe it.

If I have misunderstood please inform me so.

ANSWER - NO - I just wanted some to know this info - Some only think within their sphere of reasoning that others do it like they do it - does that make ANY sense? LOL I think it is GREAT that you believe what you do and stand for it - I just don't believe you should condemn everybody else because the don't see it like you see it. There is RARE consensus among "Apostolic" brethren - they simply do not see eye to eye on MOST things - except that - they believe in the Hall/Bernard version of the "Oneness" doctrine and they baptize in Jesus name and you must be filled with the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues to be saved. Outside of that - as you know - it gets crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't saying that attempting control in beliefs? Saying, " Here this doctrine is true but I really don't know why cause I don't understand it either but it is incomprehensible and just go on faith."
ANSWER - NO, I did not say I agree with it - just simply stating facts for some to know this is the way they believe. They do not CONCENTRATE or elaborate on doctrine.

Personally, I would like to know exactly in whom I have believed and why I believe it.
SO Very True - I concur!

If I have misunderstood please inform me so.
I think you misunderstood me - I was not defending the TRINITY! I was simply stating that is the way they are. Some on here think that if they go to a "Trinity" Church - they will hear about the Trinity and baptism in the F/S/HG and that is simply NOT TRUE. They are not out to RE-CONVERT YOU.

Because doctrine means ZIP to most. Whereas doctrine is primary in Apostolic churches.

dont know that i think that, but I do know folk that have stopped going to Apostolic churches, who still believe in basic Apostolic doctrine (loosely) but who's kids ended up "getting saved" in a non-denominational church and got dunked in the titles.

So, while Im not saying one risks eternal damnation from hearing the local AG pastor preach a sermon, I am saying trading Truth for fiction ends badly.

unless like some of my AFF "apostolic" friends, you dont think there is anything wrong with "getting saved" in a non-denominational church and getting dunked in the titles.
