Neither do we. Are you a member of Brewton Apostolic Church? If not then this wearing your hair up doesn't apply to you.

So if your pastor told you that MEN had to have uncut hair & wear it up in a bun would you do it so that you wouldn't be sinning against the brethren?

If my wearing my hair down causes my pastor to sin..my pastor has problems of the nature he should be stepping down and putting himself under another pastor.
And that is what the word "offend" means in this passage. I'm getting the idea that you have no idea how to actually study the Word, or keep it in context.
This passage you're using to justify your strict man made standards is a passage referrring to eating meat that has been sacrified to idols. The church is being instructed that eating this meat is not sin, but there are those among the church who have left the worship of those idols behind. If eating that meat would in any way cause them to stumble and go back to their former ways, and another Christian knowing the struggle they faced, ate that meat around them, THAT is a sin.

I've preached in liberals churches before, but I didn't get up and preach standards or anything of that nature. I've preached for pastors who have TVs in their homes, and they know my stand on TV. This is something you should practice Sister ... learn to use strategy Sis. when dealing with people ...

We have new converts in our church, and some of them doesn't look exactly like a "seasoned saint" (if you will) ... Don't take me wrong our church doesn't shun those who don't understand the Holiness standards. We have several young ladies in our church who came to the Lord within the last year or so, who before cut their hair, and things of this sort, but within a years time their hair hasn't grown to the length of some of our other ladies, but at any rate our women doesn't wear their hair down ... So you can't really tell the length of it.

The one being "offended" is the "weaker" of the brothers. It should not be our goal to be weaker, but to become stronger. We need to grow beyond the place where another church's "bobbed hair" or televisions offends us.

I've heard so-called "conservatives" and "ultraconservatives" use similar statements. What do you mean? Are you suggesting that we be "false" at times, or just politically correct and go with the flow?

Samuel said to Saul that "rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft..." Just a technicality.

My Pastor wouldn't do that because he has the Holy Ghost. Psalm 37:23
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
And the scripture is plain with long haired men.
... there's an old song we sing sometimes one of the verses to it is "Welllllllll, you can't get to heaven you long haired men, there ain't no place to get a trim, you oughta been Holiness a long time ago ... drinking of the wine!
Chorus: Drinking of the wine, wine, wine, drinking of the wine, the Holy Ghost wine. You oughta been Holiness a long time ago ... drinking of the wine!"
