I am not TP so forgive me for butting in But I think that you answered your own question. "OBVIOUS DIRTY DANCING MOVES BEING MADE!"
Ah but "dirty" dancing moves are NOT made in every dance outside of "dancing in the Spirit".
In fact, I've seen some so-called "dancing in the Spirit" moves that could easily be called "sensual" at best. Funny that no one says a thing about this but let something be "choreographed" or let it be something that "worldly" people do and suddenly theres a HUGE outcry.
I lead a stick drama team at my church. There are stick drama teams all over the place and they aren't all "church" teams. So...how can one tell the difference? Simple. By the music, by the appearance, and by the Spirit (thats right, capital S). We have people shouting and dancing during our stick drama presentations because the Spirit moves...
Choreographed? You bet! Directed? Most certainly.
But then again I don't have any problem with the "human helicopter" look either. After all, one of the Hebrew words for praise is defined as "to act clamourously foolish" so carry on helicopters...just leave my stick team alone while you do it. Theres room for all of us.

Do all worldly dancers dance that way? I think not, so again, the question is, except for the obvious (which isn't done by even the majority), how do you tell the difference in worldly dancing and dancing as unto the Lord?

I used to swing dance. I loved it. I like ballroom dancing too.
LOL! I'm still cracking up about this! Yup, the dirty dance moves would pretty much separate it for me. That and maybe if they wore a sequined disco outfit.
I'm referring to the dancing alone. How does one tell what is worldly and what is unto the Lord? Does setting and perhaps the song being played make a difference?
And are you done laughing yet? LOL!

Exactly my point. You answered your own question, Heavenly.
Well, then you are missing your own point, because this thread is about stepping, which doesn't involve dirty dancing moves, yet you claim you can tell the difference in worldly dancing and dancing as unto the Lord. So please indulge me.....HOW CAN YOU TELL THE DIFFERENCE???

I knew what you meant, I was just being silly. Because I'm incredibly tired and silly today! I'm not done laughing, I'll letcha know . . . .

I'm tired as well, being up since 4:45am for clinical.
And I can't stay here long, cause I have work to do. I have a case study to do as we didn't have clinical assignments (seems the person responsible for giving us passwords to the hospital computer system is on vacation), and I have only tonight to do it since I have to work tomorrow and it's due by 5pm!!!

I can tell if a dance is a worldy (notice I didn't say dirty, just worldy or secular) dance mainly because it is choreographed or taught. I submit that choreographed and taught dances in AMERICA were on the dance floor before they were in our churches. In the 26 years I have been living for the Lord, I have NEVER seen a choreographed or learned dance routine in a church service. I will give you your stick ministry. The only one I have ever witnessed brought tears to my eyes, and I truly felt the Holy Ghost; but have you ever seen a stick ministry in the world?? I haven't. Maybe it's out there and I don't know about it, but I have not been subject to a stick performance in a worldy setting.
I have, however, seen stepping in the world. They have step classes perform all the time during our county festivals or what not during the year. They are not being dirty or provocative in any fashion, but I did see these routines first in a secular environment. Hence, I draw the conclusion that we have learned out step routines from the world.
