It amazes me how we follow only the segments of NT teaching that fit our preferred dogma.

Yes, I am jealous. I've always wanted to pick up my husband and throw him out in the yard - from time to time.

LOL! AE, there are those on every side who do what you accuse. But not everyone does so.

Ferd,
This is good. I don't believe most mature Christians have a problem with offense or rather, strong words coming from the pulpit. If it is of God, the cutting will begin, but then God steps in, confirms His Word and begins the healing process.

When it isn't of God, the wound is left to fester and most of the time it cannot heal.

I meant every word.

Why don't we follow these principles?

1. Women keep silence in church.
2. Social works with our faith.

And yet we follow others?

I could go on forever. The point is that we are quite selective with the portions of scripture we choose to view as standards.

Acts 2:44-47

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
KJV

Acts 4:32
2 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
KJV
Haven´t seen much of this practiced...and this is a NT scripure not an OT war scripture...
