Dear Homeland Friends:
Jesus has called us to be witnesses. By divine commission we are to tell the world about Jesus!
We have enjoyed receiving wonderful reports from Brazil during the month we have been in the United States. Brother Raul Jr attended the regional convention in the interior of state of Sao Paulo and sent us pictures of the many sweet folks there and report great growth and new ministers in that area. We are thankful for around 600 or so folks that gathered together to represent their churches in that corner of the work. As many of you know Sao Paulo state is divided into regions and they have 4 conventions a year in different areas of that state.
We are excited that we are going to be grandparents again! Raul Jr and Michelle will have a boy according to the doctors in March and possibly on Julia’s birthday!
Our son Michael received a great miracle from the Lord. The doctors had told him due to Glaucoma and a certain type parasite he was going blind. In fact the doctors of Maceio told him there was nothing they could do and sent him to Sao Paulo however before the tests Brother Raul Jr prayed over Michael and he received a great miracle and the doctor in Sao Paulo (one of the best of Brazil) told him that he had received a miracle on his eyes. We are rejoicing that we know that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Pastor Milton just dedicated a new church in the state of Ceara.
We are in a big project in two of our churches in the stat of Sao Paulo. Enlarging the Sao Joao church and the Francisco Morato church in fact several of our churches are building bigger buildings.
We are in a special children’s drive and we are asking if anyone can sent a one time offering for our FEED THE CHILDREN project for the next two months. Offerings will be used to buy food, toys, Bibles and different things for the children especially in the northeast area of Brazil where hunger and deep poverty are so abundant.
Many of you know we are going to have to replace the roof on our big headquarters church and it is going to cost us 25 thousand dollars to do so…an overwhelming amount to us! However once again we ask you to please join this effort with us and help us reroof this large church. Actually we have tried to fix it 2 other times in the last year but neither time “our fixing” worked…even though we spent quite a bit trying not to have to completely reroof it. However they have told us this is the only way. Twice all of our wiring systems burnt out because of leaks. We are going to redo the trusses and buy as many new tiles as needed. It will be quite a project especially for Brother Alvear and I but we know our strength and means are small but with the help of God’s people we can get through this too.
The Tabulerio church just had their young people’s retreat and they saw awesome lots of new young people come to the Lord.
The Proenca church just had a men’s retreat where we are building our campground in Sao Paulo state.
The Parque Unviersatio church just finished their youth congress also. They reported an awesome move of the Holy Ghost. In fact this is their 6th youth congress in that church and they said this one was the best ever.
Pastor Hugo and his group are traveling to the country of Paraguay.
So many things are going on. We are so blessed to have pastors, workers and national missionaries that work together with us with the same goal and vision: To reach Brazil with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
You can help build the work in Brazil and Paraguay by praying and giving both are very necessary. Our passion is to see God’s purpose fulfilled in missions.
Thank you for living the call together with us!
We want to send a special thanks to those that have been so kind to us on our short visit here in America. We wish we could have visited more of you precious folks but maybe next time! This visit has been very hard on us physically however your prayers have brought us through one more time. The urgency of the hour and the great burden weighs heavy on us even in the mist of our physical weakness.
Heralding the gospel to the lost:
