His claim that all wars are over oil is not true. Him saying that it is America's fault for 9-11 is inexcusable. Cutting foreign aid for Israel, who is our biggest ally in the Middle East - nope, not for that.
My second reason is that he said the only reason he is running as a Republican is because he had no voice or platform running as an Independent. I don't like that. If you don't believe in the Republican Party, get out of it.
My third reason, is that I don't generally have an overall positive view of the Libertarian Party. It's almost like a bunch of hippies granting all rights, i.e. legalizing marijuana, which Ron Paul is not against. I've smoked marijuana and have had my share of liquor. I have taken one hit of some good Mary Jane and become disoriented. I can control a glass of liquor, so it's no comparison of safety, IMO.
My fourth reason is that he is just as intelligent, on many issues, as Newt Gingrich, but his voice is whiny and he doesn't have the command of presenting those issues as someone like Newt does. I like Ron Paul just like I like Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann, but I don't want to hear their voices for 4 years. And as much as I do like these people, I would prefer them to serve in Congress, but not in the Oval Office.

Laughable from beginning to end. I'd comment but the mass media has already told you what to think and nothing will change that.
The good news is that you'll get what you deserve for towing the line you were influenced to tow.
The bad news is that I'll get what you deserve too.
But... 'dems da breaks I suppose.

No sense in arguing about it. The mass media is in the tank for either Obama or Mitt Romney. They didn't change my mind about either of them.

The mass media doesn't care who you vote for... just as long as you don't vote for real change.
Congratulations on your success.

Thank you, Digging. You are always a joy to post with. Is that how you deal with everyone that doesn't agree with you? Your youth group?

No... not in the least.
One just learns from experience which discussions are a waste of time and which discussions are profitable.
We should surely both agree that further discussion is, absolutely, a waste of both of our time.

Re: Why I'm Against Perry
My Tax and Spending Reform Plan
Individuals will have the option of paying a 20% flat-rate income tax and I'll cap spending at 18% of GDP.
Rick Perry
On Tuesday I will announce my "Cut, Balance and Grow" plan to scrap the current tax code, lower and simplify tax rates, cut spending and balance the federal budget, reform entitlements, and grow jobs and economic opportunity.
The plan starts with giving Americans a choice between a new, flat tax rate of 20% or their current income tax rate. The new flat tax preserves mortgage interest, charitable and state and local tax exemptions for families earning less than $500,000 annually, and it increases the standard deduction to $12,500 for individuals and dependents.
This simple 20% flat tax will allow Americans to file their taxes on a postcard, saving up to $483 billion in compliance costs.
