Could you elaborate? It seems to be in conflict with Romans 12:18.

I doubt Paul knew how to fight. He wasn't raised that way.

Peter though was known to engage in a scuffle or two.

I didn't say there was an ulterior motive.

Which means that to have a full understanding of any scripture you have to balance that teaching with the whole.
Which means that to understand what "turn the other cheek means," you have to read the rest of the verse in which the phrase is contained...

"But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also."

I'll look at it more closely. I don't want to get into an argument with you.

It's 1:00 pm and I am still on the Internet. Not good!

Have a good day! I'll respond later, if I have anything to add. Thanks for your time, Chancellor.

There is no conflict between those two passages. Again, the passage telling us to turn the other cheek has a very specific application and that application is found in the rest of the verse in which the command to turn the other cheek is contained.

I have no opinion about whether he is a good or bad father. In the very limited context of his original post, I think that he was wrong to encourage his sons to engage in behavior in school that 1) violates school rules and 2) has nothing whatsoever to do with being a Christian.

Thanks, Chancellor. I'll look at it more later. I'm really busy today and making excuses because it is Monday.
