His wife and children travelled with him in a van for days at a time when she was still bottlefeeding those babies. I don't know how she did it, but I know the kind of woman she is and she has been a tower of strength to him through the years.

They've accomplished a great work for God in those Eastern European countries that were ruled by Communism and long before the Wall was torn down.

I hope he writes a book someday. It would be worth the read I can guarantee!

There are pastors who have been elected or appointed outside the will of God.
Mostly appointed.
Well, there you have it, folks. This sad fact makes our responsibility to submit to our leaders and elders null and void. Go on your merry way.

Our level of faith is directly connected to our obedience.

Mt 8: 9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

Obedience is clearly a key to great faith. Understanding and submitting ourselves to authority is crucial to our level of faith.

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

The reason that our heart condemns us is because the law of God written on our heart reveals disobedience. It does not say that God condemns, it is our own heart.

If we will be a people of great faith we must also be a people of great obedience!

And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Great post!

There is much truth there!

Obedience here is within the context of obeying God and his word. That includes submitting ourselves to spiritual leadership but it is our responsibility to make sure we are submitting ourselves to proper spiritual leadership who does not lord over the saints and go beyond what the word of God.

My last sentance of course is where we would part company!

I do think it is a very serious matter if one finds oneself not in obedience to the spiritual authority one is under.

Parted from "whom?" I see no problem with your last sentence, or the rest for that matter.

Is it really OUR job to determine whether the spiritual leadership is proper or is it simply our job to trust God to put proper spiritual leadership over us?
