I could philosophize and extrapolate on her actions-- the ironies, hidden messages. I am sure there was something very poetic (maybe even beautiful) in what she thought she was doing.
But at the end of the day, she has reduced her art to fodder for the bigots and ammo for conspiracy theorists. She practiced incredibly bad judgment.

SHE'S AN IDIOT, but I doubt she is the hateful type. That's the thing, most of the time, when people do really dumb things, they don't realize the breadth and depth of their folly until after it is done. Even then, they may never know just how much their stupidity affects the world outside of the their world.

I just posted some interesting things I found out about her and her music in particular. Also of interest is that she was earlier in her life a Jehovah's Witness, but left that religion. I do know enough about them to know that they certainly do not embrace the symbols and elevate them to an untouchable status.
That is certainly interesting. I know Serena and Venus Williams can't vote because they are JW.

Jehovah witnesses do not say the pledge, do not salute or pay homage to the flag, I'm sure that they do not sing the national anthem, they do not celebrate the national holidays. In addition to all of the other things I stated earlier, being in that environment can certainly affect your appreciation for how people feel about these symbols...even after you leave the JWs.

yeah in her world she's a winner. but she's a loser and the losses will eventually build up and smother her little kingdom-- her's and all the others who think they can say and do what ever they please to who ever, whenever they want to. One day, decent people will not be so decent and then we can conversate about wins and losses.

Many Black people are not patriotic.this is not a stereotype
just saying in general, many are not.
I sought to find out why and was told that for
many generations, they were not allowed to celebrate
National holidays so therefore its not ingrained in the
culture like it is for whites and others. When you feel
left out of the country you live in naturally you'd feel
that way
