What if she's not married? What if that husband says "uncut is long" and she disagrees?
I hate psychology, too. I think most counselors (MD, PhD and otherwise) are either nuts or going there. That's why I didn't finish my Master's in counseling.
(well, partly why)
Doesn't matter if she disagrees...she is commanded to submit to her husband.
I think you didn't get your degree in counseling because you aren't tough...like me!

For the record...since I have no husband...I decide what length is long for me...right now it is halfway down my back. I guage it by when others stop saying "your hair is so long..." then I know it is too short. FYI - I have never heard the words my hair was too short...God has blessed me with an awesome covering!
Does it imply God healed her husband BECAUSE her long hair gives her and them a "veil or protection and covering"...and that she has power with the angels?
I've always wondered why we need "power with the angels" (no offense to the angelic hosts out there)...if I have "power" (e.g., pull or influence) with anyone, I would want it to be God!!!!
Does anyone know what that could mean? Why does it say "because of the angels?"

Abigail,
I've always wondered the same. He created the world, was born, crucified, rose again, filled us with His Spirit, BUT, if my hair is "uncut" I am lost?
Have you read any of RR's children's books? Just wait until the generation of OP's raised on those is grown!!!
Comin' from fairly conservative moi: My mother picked up three of her children's books from Ladies' Conference...one about jewelry, one about hair, and one about dresses...and although I believe our jewelry should be modest and minimal, our hair should be long and uncut, and that dresses/skirts are the preferable feminine attire---I tossed all three books in the trash!
Sorry. The books were books full of garbage. Stories about how we shouldn't be decorated with jewels because Lucifer was decorated with jewels. Hey, I'm looking FORWARD to having a crown on my head when I get to Heaven, and I hope it has LOTS of jewels encrusted on it. I may put in a special request for a more delicate tiara...
Anyway, those kids' books made me gag and they made me mad. And it isn't because I don't believe in modesty...they made me mad because they are subtly manipulating young girls into believing that those who don't look just like them are hellbound and daughters of lucifer.
It irritates the livin' daylights out of me that a fanciful imaginative storyteller has been given the right to proclaim the stories as doctrine instead of precisely what they are---STORIES.
I almost wish I still had the books on hand...so I could give a better review.
There you have it. My RR confession.

Exactly!

Funny. I say "no". She asked God to honor her OBEDIENCE, not her uncut hair. Nor did she insinuate that her covering granted her special favor or powers with God.
