Monkeyman I am not meaning to be offensive. I have been raised ultra ULTRA conservative UPC. I think you are of more of a liberal UPC. Correct me if I am wrong.
No, when it comes to a biblical based standards we are on the money...all this other junk, we stay away from. that doesn't make us liberal...it makes us RIGHT...he he he!!!!!

Why don't you come up with something concrete. I know of churches that practice what I'm talking about, and it works well and divorce is far lower there than in the rest of Pentecost. You know, I wouldn't just throw out some statement about you, why don't you do the same? What you do is rude and condescending, why can't you put something together to express your thoughts rather than throw out a sentence or two and walk away?

Alex, of course we don't see eye to eye but we do have somethings in common...hopefully we will meet on a trip to Beantown...but, bro, let me try to help you. I don't knock young people, I have a soft spot in my heart for them and I trust them to do great things. When you make comments on a forum that "I believe this certain thing and when I am a pastor someday I will do THIS!!!!!!!!" here is how it plays out to everyone else...."When I grow up I wanna be a fireman" do you get this? I am not trying to be mean or funny, just a tip, go, get your credibility, and then come back and say, this is what I am doing, here is why I am doing it, and here is why you should do the same...that will bring change. Praying for you, you have a lot to learn, you probably are a lot smarter than a lot of us, and may your future/present be BLESSED!!!! Like nike says...JUST DO IT!!!!!
MM, thanks for taking the time to express what I was feeling, but having no patience with youthfulness on an internet forum. That's my fault.
Sorry, but where in the Bible does it give the women the authority to preach standards? Especially unbiblical standards? And then say that not obeying the pastor's wife is rebellion? In fact, if we want to be Biblical a pastor's wife has less authority than an older woman in the church. When I begin to pastor (and when GOD blesses me with a wife), let's say we're in out late 20's or so, she won't be teaching the women, a woman 40, or 50 or 60 will be teaching her. The Bible tells the older women to teach the younger women, not for the pastor's wife to have any special teaching authority because she is married to the pastor.
Also, about the "holiness test" I found it humorous that there was no mention of the woman being shamefaced, or meek and quiet or inwardly modest. I know of women who always wear their hair up, they wear long skirts and long sleeves and they out-talk their husbands, and rule the roost! I have known teenage Pentecostal girls to not trim their hair or do any of those other "unholy" things, but they'll talk to a boy and look straight into his eyes and be flirtatious and forward. It's sad how rampant this is in Pentecost.

Alex...would you listened to a tired mother? Many of the things you say could be said from another mountain peak of life...but son you are still climbing the first hill...some of us are on the last climb...
You don´t have to worry about offending me I raised a lot of boys that at your age told me how to win the world but when it was really their bat and the runners were on base they realized they did not know as much as they thought they did.
Some of the people on our forum are giants in God and who would I just a women be trying to tell them how to lace their shoes or maybe you trying to tell the well seasoned soldiers how to shoot the gun when they have scars from the battles and yours has just begun?
Son, whether you agree with people are not, be kind to them...life throws us a lot of curve balls...You will find out at the end of the journey just how much we did need each other even though we may have differed on some points.
