It is amazing the rules of engagement with a liberal.
Because then we should demand proof for using toothpaste and deodorant isn't sinful ...

Get real, PJ ... you're smarter than this.

You are missing my entire point. I am not saying you cannot say it is not sin... simply that neither can you say that I cannot say it is. Neither statement is supported in scripture.

The fact is that we should teach Biblical principles of modesty and not say it is or isn't and let God determine what is and isn't a sin for the individual.

Now I know you are smart enough to figure that out.

Not missing the point at all PJ ... you're working backwards.

You've allowed a group of men and their articles of faith of the last century to be the measure ...

God's Word doesn't have to fit them ... they have to fit God's Word.

The bible based principles and scriptures are clear ...

1. Don't walk around naked
2. Don't cross-dress
3. Dress modestly

As long as tunics were distinguishable by gender ... they were okay.
The same applies to pants.

The individual can decide to wear what they should wear ... not the preacher.

We could dance around this all night!

Fact is you did not want any one adding to the scripture. I want the same thing... even from your point of view. There are scriptural principles that are clear and specific named sins that are clear. Going so far as to define what is and isn't sin based on a principle is dangerous ground.

Let God be God and his Word and Spirit in parallel be your guide! You can't go wrong. Just stay out of extra-Biblical expostulations... either pro or con a particular view.

Not even... common sense should take care of those and the scripture about cleanliness is next to Godliness!

I keep posting before you get through editing.

You are obviously wanting an argument because you are being intentionally obtuse. So stop it! NoW!

Actually the edit would be your position because I would be preaching that not flossing is a sin...

*Peels PJ off the floor*

I stand by my original premise then ... the good pastor should be bold enough to preach this responsibly, truthfully and not be papal edict.

If you read my posts without bias, you will see that I said exactly that a couple of times only differently.

I read this post and thought "surely Dan can't argue with this". Then I looked at the next post and found I was wrong!

DAN, what's to argue with? He's preaching Holy Ghost conviction and not a standard man made standard of modesty.
