If your "brother" was "sensing this in the Spirit" then he took that ball and ran with it the opposite direction from what happened.
I am always amazed at people who try and justify prophecy's that are just wrong.
Oh, and as far as your comment in an earlier post about the election not being according to our constitution or something like that the election went exactly as it calls for. The winner of the electoral vote gets elected. The Presidential election is not one of the popular vote.
The only "influence" Russia had in the election is if it was them who released the Dems emails and that was not something they made up it was releasing actual emails that showed what they were doing to get Hillary across the Dem primary nomination line, etc.
Russia did not interfere in the election in the sense of stuffing ballot boxes or electronically taking over electronic polls as some of the more stupid and less informed liberals have stated in media. All reasonable people have refuted that on both sides of the aisles.
The only reason the Dems are screaming about this is they are still in lib shock over not having 8 more years of a socialist president. They are grasping at anything they can to try and stop the dismantling of Obama's policies.

Yes, "sensing in the spirit."
I was called by a dear brother of mine a few days after my youngest daughter was born. I took the call just before Sunday morning service. What he had to tell me was that he "sensed" in the spirit" that God was going to kill my daughter because of how I view eschatology. I then asked him to pray with me right there on the phone. After we had a rip roaring prayer meeting, I told him I needed to go to service. 13 years later she is still alive. When she was 3 her eye was a cocked eye. It was moved all the way towards her nose. Again, the prophesy was brought to my attention by a well meaning saint, and asked me what I was going to do? I said pray, and worship in Jesus name. 10 years later and my daughter's eyes are perfectly beautiful.
When she was 4 she had a bad fever, and my wife was silent with look of bewilderment. I said, this, "don't give power to a bad report" pray, the Lord Jesus Christ is the mover of heaven and earth.
My daughter is healthy and happy 13 year old.
My dear brother is still wrong.

Oh, no my brother, I was given book, chapter, and verse 2 Samuel 12:15-17.
I'm fortunate because I don't salute everything someone flies up the flagpole. That's why I'm so strict about this subject, because I've seen people turned inside out from being told "thus saith self" from a jackleg jellybean. To watch a brother and sister sobbing uncontrollably because some nut job had prior information supplied by the pastor, telling a young couple something that almost destroyed them. That is more than I need to tolerate. Nope, call them out on the carpet, when they drop the watermelon. Sometimes even before, or even when it's happening. I say that, because you know when it is solid, and gun barrel straight. You also know when it is as soggy as a pair of cheap hunting boots.

I'm VERY self conscious about worrying if something is "me" or God. I've had emotional issues before and I'd never want to say it was God when it wasn't. I just don't trust myself that much...However I HAVE spoken to others under the direction of the HolyGhost before but I have been very careful how that was done.
I want no credit or glory for anything God does or any way He would use me but I know what it's like needing to hear from God.
One time I literally heard a conversation before it happened with someone with no prior knowledge on my part. In that conversation I had a message or encouragement and restoration but I waited because I thought it was just me...The next day she started the conversation word for word and I immediately stopped her and asked to speak to her in the hall*was in a votec classroom*
I delivered the message and watched as she broke down and began to weep...The next service she came to church and I had the privilege of watching her be refilled with the HolyGhost.
I know I waited but I believe God honored my cautiousness and I wasn't faulted for it.
I had a crazy try to get all *mail reading* one time with me and my wife while we were praying in the alter...I tried to ignore her hoping she'd move on...She didn't and I had to open my eyes and set her straight firmly and tell her she was out of order that she needed to back off.
I don't entertain crazy especially crazy that wants to masquerade as God or the Gifts in action.

Educate yourselves on PTSD.
Not everyone suffers from it.
It takes less trauma for some to get it than others.
It has more to do with brain chemistry, not emotion.
It is an actual biochemical change in the brain. It's actually a physical injury.
God heals some and not others.
Those who aren't healed can often feel the only way out is suicide.
To mock this is dangerous.
To compare people only demonstrates a lack of understanding what PTSD is.
Many soldiers in WWII and prior had it too. It was known as shell shock and battle fatigue.

I'm not saying I can't enjoy a loud traditional service. But I don't know when I can or can't. While I can enjoy such services, sometimes something will trigger it and I have to excuse myself and find quiet.
I have never had an issue while attending house church or a Quaker gathering for silent worship.

For the last freaking time. I'm not defending this jerk of a false prophet. I was only admonishing caution and introspection with regards to any prophecy. Sometimes a prophecy is fulfilled in a manner even the prophet didn't expect.
