Spiritual abuse is a bunch of hogwash, nothing but in the evil imaginations of those that desire to usurp the authority of God's anointed. I ALWAYS submit. It's up to me to do it when the preacher says to wear straight pins in my clothes rather than buttons, even if they poke me and my baby that is sitting on my lap. It is up to me to wear a covering on my head even if I am fainting of heat. It is up to me to drive a buggy even if it is 40 below and freezing and cars are flying by on the highway. Either we trust God or we don't. If I get run over, poked or freeze to death, it is the will of God.

So you are saying that spiritual abuse exists/happens? If so, I agree. I also agree that a person has a choice whether or not to remain down or to get up & do something about getting well. Some just take longer to get well than others. (I also realize that some REMAIN a "victim" for much, much longer than they need to for a plethora of reasons.)

If anyone is effected for more than 15 minutes they are way too carnal.

What about (as Michlow has posted) those who were taught a very distorted view of Jesus? Those people need to re-learn what He is all about/who He really is. That, also, takes time.

It's NEVER a good idea to sweep abuse under the rug. It only leads to further & future abuse to that person and/or others.

I know that, and you know that, but getting others convinced is what is difficult.

I don't agree with every thing on here, but here are some links with food for thought:

You have to scroll down to "The Biblical Evidence" and read from there.
