I remember hearing my friends etc telling about sneaking out of the house.

MAN... if I was going to sneak out of the house it would be to run away and NEVER come back. There is NO WAY this ole boy was going to sneak out of my dads house.

Good grief... I didn't have a death wish.

There was a low water bridge we used to stop at on the way back. We would roll up our pants legs and wade in the creek to cool off in the summer. I could tell stories about my grandparents farm forever!

....and heaven will be EVEN more wonderful!
It was about a mile and a half walk to the store. There was a pear orchard next to the graveyard, and blackberries lined the barbed wire fence all the way there. Mom would make cobbler from 'em. mmm, mmm good.

My sister and best friends used to run away. We would pack a backpack with enough snacks and a couple of toys to last until dark and act like we were leaving. We would write notes and leave them at the house! And of course we were home before anyone found them because we were afraid of the dark!!

The graveyard!!! Yes!!! Hehehehehehhehee!

I drove my car, on Halloween night, with my little brother and our cousin straight to the back of the graveyard. I turned off the car and pretended it wouldn't start. They were screaming like little girls!!!!

I had no where to go. Everyone knew us and would just bring me home.

I wanted this friend of mine in High School to take me to San Antonio to my sister's house. He said, "No way. You're father will really get a gun and shoot me."

PP,
with these additional facts your recollection is approaching poetic fiction.

Blackberries,
fruit trees
and the ultimate place to play hide-n-go seek!
