Re: Tiger Woods Update Thread
Woods is checking into rehab in the PHX metro for sex and rx pain meds addiction treatments.
In all the sordid news of his affairs, I haven't heard of him being addicted to rx pain meds.
Good for ex Mrs. Woods. I've read a couple reports that one of the ladies he's continued with the longest is just down the road from where he's currently staying, and that they're "in love" and don't plan to stop seeing each other. If that's true, who knows, but if that is true it shows Woods isn't sorry and shows his statements thus far have been a lie.

Re: Tiger Woods Update Thread
Yeah, well...I used to like David Letterman. His sense of humor suited better than Jay Leno or Conan. Now I can't stand to watch him. His jokes about the moral failures of others fall flat. When he makes a scathing remark about some other celeb, I just look at him and think he's a big schlub.
Same with Tiger. It saddens me that these big-time athletes allow themselves to get involved in such flagrant debauchery and drug use. Tiger was well-aware that he was held up as a major role model for young boys. His moral failure tears down all the good that was established by his former successes. Seems the "role-model" thing, instead of deterring bad behavior, propels these athletes toward it. Now, Tiger's name is a JOKE. That is really really sad. His name will become a verb like, OJ'd, ENRON'd, Madoffed, Clintoned...Tigered. You can just hear it..."Yeah, she got Tigered...the guy was sleeping around with multiple women and now who knows what's next for her and the kids."
If he can pull it together, through God's help and salvage his marriage and career, good for him. Just tragic that he had to haul off and botch things up big-time before he got the message that repercussion of his actions were going to cost him so dearly.

I feel exactly the same way. I do NOT watch Letterman any more for the same reason. At least I am consistent in my "prejudice!"

Re: Tiger Woods Update Thread
Tiger is a sinner. What do we expect? It's a part of celebrity status to get lots of women.

I guess she really loved him.
Too bad he didn't love her.
So sad.

No, it is NOT official. It's official that an "insider" said it.
Do you know, for sure, that she really loved him? And while his actions have been incredibly selfish and careless, can you say, for a certainty, that he didn't love her?
And yes, it's incredibly sad.

Is this confirmed? There are rumors by "The Huffington Post" but there's a LOT of malarkey on that site. But I hope he does get help.
There have been rumors almost since the first day that he had trouble with painkillers and ambien.

I don't see his name as a joke at all. I see his name as one worthy of our intercession and prayers that he will be led to faith. I'm hopeful and excited for his future that he can become the complete person he needs to be.

When young athletes, and potential rock stars, consider their future, there are three things they talk about....money, cars, and women. SOOO many get sucked into that lifestyle, and Tiger is no different. He has no excuse and I'm sure he would offer none. I thought he might be above the "lifestyle" but he wasn't.
And while there is never any excuse for any of this kind of behavior, I think we have to say, "But for the grace of God.....". If I were rich, powerful, and famous, and had girls crawling all over me constantly, I'd like to think I would resist and be an exception. But I can't know for sure and I believe one of the most dangerous statements any of us could ever say is, "I would never!!!"
