Ferd, the concept of Halliburton moving it's headquarters overseas to the Middle East would have been unheard of. Major ompanies moving their entire IT and customer support overseas would have been unheard of. My sister worked for a major loans company that handles a lot of student loans. One of her biggest responsibilities was going down to Mexico to train people to process and handle the loans since they were shipping those responsibilities there. There are many more examples of their being a new breed of job being sent out (not sweat-shop, sneaker sewing jobs like in the past).
there are surely concerns here bro. I wonder if America's hostile policy to business has anything to do with this? you do know that we have the second highest corporate tax rate dont you?

But here's the problem Ferd....the Government will decide what is and isn't a serious health issue. It's your wife on the table facing the prospects of possibly needing an abortion and doctors are divided...who's the most qualified to choose when the day is done...your wife or the Government?
hey, dont lecture me on that your the one that wants the government in charge of healthcare not me!
again, if you cant see the dicotomy here, thats your issue not mine.

You, Ferd, and DT. You're saying that being Pro-Choice is being Pro-Abortion....that's like saying that if you believe in Gun Rights you must be Pro-School Shooting. Don't you see how illogical and down right stupid your your logic is?
Aquila, you are wasting your time, Brother. In their minds you think killing babies is just fine and have no right to call yourself a Christian. You can tell them all you want that you think abortion is wrong and they will tell you you think it's ok.
They say that they don't want Government meddling in our lives...but they want the government to police what might be the darkest hour in a couple's life. They really just don't get it.

Ferd, I think the biggest contributing factor is that we no longer have people looking out for what's in the best interest of the American people. There is a lack of accountability that I have been alluding to because politicians can just hide behind a handful of hot-button talking points and guarantee support and electability. In the meantime lobbyists (with both foreign and domestic allegiances) do what is in the best interest of their bottom line or their country. How does Halliburton moving it's corporate office to Saudi Arabia affect that corporate tax rate? And then how do they continue to get such a lion's share of our federal contracts?

To me it's not a red/blue argument.(Aquilla seems to think otherwise) It's a Biblical one. I've tried to convey that I don't understand the justification for one that holds the position that you do but have tried not to attack the person.
The thing is, RD, that we all agree that abortion is a sin. I have yet to see anyone say it isn't. Where we differ is in whether we think the government should have the right to stop a woman from committing this sin. I don't think it should; you think it should. Instead of debating the merits of those two positions, those of us on the pro-choice side are constantly having to fight off attacks on our Christianity. It happens every time the issue of abortion comes up.

I m sorry, but I find it awefull silly that a person gets to kill a human being because they might be inconvenienced by that humans birth.
Now as Ive said before, if a pregnancy is going to cause serious physical health issues for the mother, then you have a reason to consider abortion.
but "I didnt use a condom" isnt a valid reason to kill someone.
