Wow never attended a Church where the pastors wife taught. Our teaching came from the Pastor himself and he taught out of the word of God.
Really? Our pastor's wife usually speaks on Mother's Day, and she always does a great job!
Pastor's wives, even if they don't teach from the pulpit, often teach ladies' classes, AND they can and do influence what their husband teaches--or doesn't. I've known several pastors who left it up to their wives to teach all the standards to their ladies.

I know that a pastors wife can be a big influence in what he teaches and preaches.
I've heard several sermons that came from her, but it was out of his mouth.
I am a 10.
The old song Jesus on the inside working on the out side came to mind as I was deciding to post. I received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus name in 1961. I wish I could say I've been a 10 all these years. Sadly there were some years of rebellion. Praise the Lord He continues to work from the inside out and is still performing His work in my life as i allow Him to.
Sorry, but where in the Bible does it give the women the authority to preach standards? Especially unbiblical standards? And then say that not obeying the pastor's wife is rebellion? In fact, if we want to be Biblical a pastor's wife has less authority than an older woman in the church. When I begin to pastor (and when GOD blesses me with a wife), let's say we're in out late 20's or so, she won't be teaching the women, a woman 40, or 50 or 60 will be teaching her. The Bible tells the older women to teach the younger women, not for the pastor's wife to have any special teaching authority because she is married to the pastor.
Also, about the "holiness test" I found it humorous that there was no mention of the woman being shamefaced, or meek and quiet or inwardly modest. I know of women who always wear their hair up, they wear long skirts and long sleeves and they out-talk their husbands, and rule the roost! I have known teenage Pentecostal girls to not trim their hair or do any of those other "unholy" things, but they'll talk to a boy and look straight into his eyes and be flirtatious and forward. It's sad how rampant this is in Pentecost.

Did someone say that? I think it comes from the scripture that says the older women should teach the younger women.

Okay, so when your wife gets older, will she be teaching the younger women???
Most of the time, teachers in the church (whether it is the pastor's wife or someone else) are teaching pastor-approved curriculum OR they have been directly instructed in what they are to teach by the pastor.

The holiness test was pretty much a joke. Not all that funny, but it was meant that way.

Oh dear. Looking someone in the eye is bad? I thought was just polite conversation. I hate to talk to someone who won't look me in the eye--it makes me think they are deceitful or hiding something.

I was about to ask what the age requirements was for posting on this forum...

You don't think a girl should look into a guys eyes when speaking to him?
Please assure me you are not seeking to someday be a UPC preacher... I'll point you to another organization

I know it was a joke, but so often that is the test of holiness. I should have conveyed better that I knew it was a joke. Also, about eye-contact, there is polite eye-contact, but then there is that sort of lascivious, flirtatious eye-contact from forward Pentecostal girls, and it ought to stop. This sort of thing can be prevented by boys and girls being separated from each other, except for approved youth socials with chaperones present to help in marrying off the young people- call me old-fashioned but it works!

I ran from the UPC and never looked back!
What org would you point me to? It would be funny to hear your suggestions. I'm 100% independent, but 100% dependent on GOD!

It's obvious that you are young and have a lot to learn. This post proves it.
