So you were okay with Gerald Ford unconstitutionally binding the delegates so that Ronald Reagan would lose the first go round?

The president of the 1876 convention declared - “It is the right of every individual member thereof to vote his individual sentiments.”

Ford was 9 delegates short of winning the nomination and was 43 ahead of Reagan.
He also had won the popular vote 53% to 46%.
Here is the reason Reagan lost the delegate vote.

The 1976 Republican National Convention was held in Kansas City. As the convention began, Ford was seen as having a slight lead in delegate votes, but still shy of the 1130 delegates he needed to win. Reagan and Ford both competed for the votes of individual delegates and state delegations. In a bid to woo moderate Northern Republicans, Reagan shocked the convention by announcing that if he won the nomination, Senator Richard Schweiker of Pennsylvania, from the northern liberal wing of the party, would be his running mate. The move backfired, however, as few moderates switched to Reagan, while many conservative delegates were outraged. The key state of Mississippi, which Reagan needed, narrowly voted to support Ford; it was believed that Reagan's choice of Schweiker had led Clarke Reed, Mississippi's chairman, to switch to Ford. Ford then won the nomination, narrowly, on the first ballot.

The Republitards have had an enemy at the head of government for 8 years, and haven't opposed squat.
All their bleating amounts to "we need to keep the gravy train rolling."
Lies, lies, and more lies.

Ted Cruz led a lot of fights against the Obama Administration. The 2A fight was one that was awesome. Others are listed on this thread. He tried to make honest men of those that promised to stop Obamacare, but they were afraid. ALL the men who ran for President, save Marco Rubio, opposed Ted's filibuster. Rand Paul made a brief appearance on the Senate floor and then later criticized Ted. If they had stood together, we would have won that fight. Especially before the security mess with this issue came up. We held the purse strings.
So, save me your Republitards. There are some men and women working.
Fox News decided they wanted Trump, and the people fell in line with it - again.
And I wonder who thinks that Trump is going to hold any of the elected officials accountable when he has been greasing their palms, hanging out with them for decades. It's a joke. A total joke. Chumped by Trump.

Falling short and picking a nominee that isn't desirable isn't a good reason to unconstitutionally bind the delegates. Please.

Maybe I have missed something, but how is it unconstitutional for a political party to bind the delegates.
What article of the constitution addresses this?
