Thanks for your concern, Felicity, but it isn't necessary.

1. God hasn't left me. I know this from His Word. He promised He would never leave me nor forsake me.

2. I have not left God. I know this from my own faith. I am following the path He has for me.

3. I have not rejected His power or anointing. I just have a very different view of what those are, now.

To go into more detail would probably be a violation of the rules. It would look like "tearing down Apostolic doctrine". If I've already stepped over that line, I apologize. It was almost always in response to questions asked of me, but maybe I should have kept my mouth shut!

No, it does not, God is bigger than all you doubts, fears and questions.

He is not put off by your inquiries, He will still be there when you finally tire of the questions and continue to seek Him with all your heart.

You see He is a loving Heavenly Father that has your best interest first and foremost in His heart.

I didn't post out of concern, really. Just to answer your question, is all.

I see.

And it was hypothetical, after all. If I once had the real thing and now reject it, etc.

So, it that the key? What if I'm right and never had the "real" thing? Is that a whole different situation? I may still "get it" some day, but if it was "real", I am now doomed?

Oh, so the question was hypothetical. Has the whole thread been that, too?

This is why I find it easier to just accept that I am going to hell rather than spend my life in fear of going there.

Are for real. Have you really just accepted that you are going to Hell.

But seriously, even a hypothetical question is a real question. Or can be. That was my intent for the poll itself (but we don't need to rehash that! ), as well as the question in my post above (I think Praxeas got that one started, actually).

Jesus said "I will never leave you nor forsake you."

To whom did He say that?

The believer, the disciple - which he further defined as one who "continues" in His "word" and one who "know[s] the truth."

One who is not a believer, or one who does not continue in His word, or one who does not "know the truth"... is not one who can claim any rational basis for thinking he or she is a disciple, a believer, and thus has no rational basis for thinking Jesus' promise about not leaving or forsaking them, applies to their situation.

Furthermore, Jesus specifically identified people who would believe and make the claim that He is their lord, that they have done many wonderful things in His name... and yet he Himself denies ever knowing them at all.

Finally, the book of Hebrews states in chapter 6 that those who have tasted the heavenly gift and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and who nevertheless "fall away", cannot be "renewed unto repentance".

The bible is full of warnings concerning false doctrine, false brethren/false converts, and even believers who make "shipwreck" of the faith, whose faith gets "overthrow[n]", who fall into gross error and sin... and whose fate is destruction.
