YC was very "youthy" I don't know how else to explain it....the kids LOVED it.

I remember when i was on the IL Youth Board, we went to an AG District Youth Conference to check it out....I remember the kids being in jeans, the speakers being casual, the music being current and everything seeming 'relevant' to the teenagers....

Then you went to our National Youth Congress and we were singing old songs...everyone was wearing suits....and it was more like regular church...

CP, not that I agree with the argument but if you remember, JF was not a licensed member of the UPCI and has a television program. this was before the GC.

It appeared to some to be a slap in the face. It seemed like a direct and intentional attempt to show what direction the UPCI Youth division wanted at General Conference.

Keep in mind that the guys who fly a lot are probably getting upgraded from coach for free based on frequent flyer miles.

Surely they have travel policies in place that restrict paid airfare to coach. If not that is inexcusable.

Tell you what, Jeremy Foster is a stand up guy...who still preaches A LOT of our UPC Youth Camps and Conferences.
When he was approached about starting the TV program, rather than cause a raucus about it, he honorably turned in his license as to not offend the brethern or be in violation of what was the current rule on TV.
He did it in a right way, and if he asks for reinstatement, he will be given back his license...That's why everyone still has him at their Churches...

Agreed. I'd hope such policies are in place for all.

CC1, you're right. That is the case.
Myself I'm Gold Medallion with Delta. I don't have to buy a first class ticket.
If a seat is available in first class, they bump me up...

Execs at HQ are platinum/elite members of their respective airlines...
which means they always get bumped as do their spouse, but still pay coach prices.

hey i wore jeans to church last night, and our pastor came back and got me when they had a prayer line, seems my prayer works even in jeans and a sweater, lol,dt

He was probably just trying to trick you into coming to the front so he could get you in the altar!!
