Actually, this used to be a nation that said, "One nation, indivisible with liberty and justice for all", up until 1954. The United States added "Under God" 11 years before they managed to give black people the right to vote. We were godly enough to add a meaningless ceremonial two words, but not godly enough to allow African-Americans to vote.

In Georgia, 28 black legislators were elected as Republicans, but Democratic officials decided that even though blacks had the right to vote in Georgia, they did not have the right to hold office; the 28 black members were therefore expelled. The democrats started the KKK.

The Democrats have been horrible in treatment of blacks.

You must've really gotten excited when many of the Southern Democrats and other segragationist Dixiecrats crossed over to your Republican cult ... with the likes of Strom Thurmond in the 60's ... while championing "traditional Judeo-Christian conservative values".

The original Republican platform in 1856 had only nine planks – six of which were dedicated to ending slavery and securing equal rights for African-Americans.

The original targets of the Ku Klux Klan were Republicans, both black and white, according to a new television program and book, which describe how the Democrats started the KKK and for decades harassed the GOP with lynchings and threats.

I'm against that Mosque being built. If a legal loophole can be found to stop its building then I'm all for it being stopped. In the absence of some legal way to bar its building then it has a right to be built. Whether I like the mosque being built or not is irrevelant at that point.

The mosque developers are tax deadbeats.

Sharif El-Gamal, the leading organizer behind the mosque and community center near Ground Zero, owes $224,270.77 in back property tax on the site, city records show.

El-Gamal’s company, 45 Park Place Partners, failed to pay its half-yearly bills in January and July, according to the city Finance Department.

The delinquency is a possible violation of El-Gamal’s lease with Con Edison, which owns half of the proposed building site on Park Place. El-Gamal owns the other half but must pay taxes on the entire parcel.

If Con Ed has financial interest in the property, They can face a single and protracted lawsuit and we wouldn't kniow for years.

We know 45 Park Place can't demolish and build without all new contracts. it could take 10 years.

AND, some Muslims are advocating that we allow them to practice sharia law in their own neighborhoods and that local laws and law enforcement agencies should not affect them.

Nobody wants to say this but within their doors they want to have a different legal system. Using the Mosque for a sanctuary city also is problematic.
