Definitions of the word are many. I am not sure why many of you always look at worst case scenerio.

Do a little survey today Rhoni - - asks 10 people what they think a lover is.

Re: Living Arrangements

Words can change their meaning so a lover now means something different than it years ago like the word gay meant happy yrs. ago ,but I Sister Rhoni I believe and trust you that you didn't mean nothing wrong by your use of the word.
Years ago makin love could mean dating and holding hands whereas it has sexual overtones now.

I'll say this I believe the best here and I think our Sister was only trying to stir the pot.

At least a person with some sense. Presumed meaning is not a true meaning. The dictionaries have multiple manings. It seems it is always easier to believe the worst in people for some. Thank God for good people like Bro. Scott who things the good.

God Bless You Bro. Scott.

Sincerely, Rhoni

Rhonda, it is not a mind in the gutter or negative thinking issue. It is once again an issue that you posted before you stopped to think.

When I read "lover" rather than husband, I could think no other way than what has been stated.

Oh, please, Rhoni!!!!! When I think of "lover", I think of someone I share my entire mind and body with!!!! First of all, that definition isn't from the "gutter"--that's the normal and WHOLESOME definition, and secondly, that term belongs to the person you're married to. If you're not married, you don't have a lover unless you're in an extramarital, sexual relationship.

Besides, unless you're the ice queen, "cuddling" leads to other things, and as for me...nuzzling my neck is going to get me quite hot and bothered.

If I were to say, "Hello, AFF, tomorrow I'm going to find a 'lover'", I can assure you most people would define it in the way most have on this thread, and rightly so. That has nothing to do with the "gutter." You're the one taking the word out of normal context, and then acting surprised when people interpret it normally.

That's the simplicity of it, Barb! Thanks for your post!

You are talking about Renda & Abbie, right? Looks like they are trying to call me out for the worst instead of believing the best. Looks like I Cor. Chapter 13 should come into play somewhere in this conversation

Last I checked you were married, therefore your definition would carry a different connotation.

Acting surprised is not the word. Caught is the word!
