The men that sponsor this meeting and preach this meeting have changed absolutely nothing. The only change that has take place is by those who think you can reach a lost world by looking, acting, and singing like the world. I think the world is sitting there laughing at us try to do everything like they do it. Sorry Prax. that you did not get to hear everything you wanted to hear in 1 night. Please don't act like you were there to get fired up to reach the world, nobody here in their right mind thinks that was your purpose for coming to the meeting. You came so you could have something to talk about here on the forum. The title of the message that Prax. heard was "The end of the road, when there are no elders" Somebody asked why he consulted with this particular Elder about the skating rink. For 1 thing PP was the superintendent of the Western District at the time and it was, and still is, common for pastors to call their superintendent about particular things in their area. I know PW very well. He called this Elder to make sure his own spirit was right about this situation. You should of heard Wednesday night "The perpetual price of our Apostolic Heritage" Amazing message.
There were a few things missing at this camp.
1. Skirts, that show more than you are willing to look at.
2. Christian rock music. ( Did we show the world how to do that rock stuff, or did they show us?)
3. Jewelry ( ...Let it not be the wearing of gold... spoken by the same Peter that that preached Acts 2:38)
4. Plunging necklines
5. Mens hairstyles that are created and promoted by homosexuals.
6. Christian Rap.
To many things to mention.
I love the rules of this camp. Our young people have to see all this junk in the world. They shouldn't have to come to Camp meeting and cover their eyes. This camp is a safe place.
There was Good solid Holiness preaching. It kind of reminded me of a message I have on tape of AM from Alexandria. In the mid 90's, preaching against Television, ungodly clothing, Video, Movies, Etc. Not sure why he changed his mind.
............mettle not with them that are given to change.
Yes, you missed a truly great camp.

Well first of all only God can read someone's heart. So you cannot know why Prax went to the camp meeting. Second of all sounds like a good meeting, how many were baptized in Jesus name and received the Holy Ghost?

I saw many there that needed to hear the message of the gospel. The gospel was preached at this meeting. There were sinners in the altar. You guys are blowing the rules thing way out of proportion. These are guidelines for the young people, and staff, staying on the grounds. Pastors DID bring those who needed the Holy Ghost to the services. There were women in pants and make-up etc. It was not a problem as they need to hear the message. They do not need to come to a place where the people are trying to look like them. I am glad Prax. could tell a difference in the dress of our people. Isn't this seperation? Come out from among them and be ye separate. Sorry I cannot respond to all of the replies to my original post. The pile is getting to high. LOL.

No. Only hairstyles that are clean and holy. A good clean cut. It does not matter if they are 10 years, 30 years, or 100 years removed from being stylish. I am glad you are not changing with the times. I think it is perfectly Ok to have a 30 year old hairstyle.

there may be youth from a church where the kids are not really in church.
I don't think this can always be controlled. we've had kids go to YC who were 21 and doing their own thing.
there's a lot of different situations and when you get several thousands of youth togethere you are going to
likely see a little bit of everything. I think we have to be stronger then this.

I remember 30 years ago when the "JCM" hairstyle on guys became popular in the UPC. It was considered "worldly" by some because there were some celebrities that had the same hairstyle.
Well....today that style is common even among the ultra-con sector of the Apostolic church. So I guess it comes down to what motivates you to wear a certain style. Are you trying to be like the world, or are you just trying to do the best with what works for you as far as bald spots, etc.

I can certainly agree with some of that Pianoman. Your motivation for wearing a certain item or hairstyle goes a long way. This is the true character of your heart. I doubt that the good conservative brethren will some day think the messy hair-do that the homosexuals are promoting now will be ok in the future. Why can't men just look like good conservative men? What is wrong with that?

Well, it is refreshing to actually be able to discuss hairstyles/issues with men and not just woman now!
However, with that said, do the girls not have that bedhair look too? I have seen a lot of it and Hollywood glams long flowing, sexy hair, so are the ladies required to slick it back?
