Yes, I have noticed that many discussions he gets involved in have a tendency to head in the "let's promote socialism" vein.

Second, maybe cut the 500 million in taxpayer dollars that went to Planned Barrenhood in the last two years.
That's what the tax is for. I don't know where to go to find figures on exactly how the money is spent.

Since 1983 the money has not gone exclusively to maintenance of the highways but more and more has gone to a "Mass Transit account" and a fraction of a percent goes into "other accounts."

Ok. So 83.9% goes to highways, 15.5% goes to mass transit, and .5% goes to "other", whatever that means. I don't have a problem with that. Eliminating the tax would still have a negative affect on highway maintenance. It would also have a negative affect on mass transit funds. That means two areas would be affected, which is even worse than one.

Yo, Rico did you see the link and info on Algae?

I was reading about a car run on compressed air yesterday. There is an Indian company that intends to market a mini-van in the US that seats 6 has an 8 gallon gas tank and a compressed air tank. the projection is that it will be able to travel 1000 miles on one fill up of 8 gallons of gas and about $2 worth of compressed air.

Actually, no. I thought you had forgot about it. I will look for it, though. Do you know what page it's on?

Also Ethinol has about 80% of the stored energy per gallon as does petrolium gas..... Corn Ethanol is STUPID.... and it exists for one simple reason. IOWA is the first state to vote in the Presidential primaries, so both parties cater to their stupid ideas.

here is one
http://www.popularmechanics.com/scie...h/4213775.html

google Algae BioFuel..

bottom line, 50% of the biomass of certain Algae strains are oil. (think bio desel), plus the remainder is made of starches that can be produced into ehtanol. ALL of the carbons burned from these sources are from the atomosphere so you really are resting to zero carbon emmisions.

PLUS Algae has a byproduct of oxygen and hydrogen (you can use algae to produce hydrogen for that fuel source too)

bump for Rico.

Thanks. I had already found it using the search function here at AFF. It seems the biggest problem they are going to face is finding a way to bring the cost down enough to make doing this feasible.

I suspect that will be found. I just wish I were a bio engenier. I would be making gas in my back yard!

If the government decides to start subsidizing it, are you gonna complain, like you like to do?
