should have won the oscar that year but My Left Foot got it.
that was criminal.
The year Pulp Fiction and Ed Wood were up for Oscars, my son was pulling for Martin Landau to win best supporting actor, for Ed Wood. One night, he had a dream that he met Samuel L Jackson (up for best supporting actor for Pulp Fiction), and he says to him, "Hope you win the Oscar!" Then he remembered that he really wanted Landau to win. So he says to Jackson, "Oh, wait. Never mind."

Ed Wood was hillarious!
I actually didn't expect to like this movie but was completely wrong about it. This is also the film where I actually started liking the stuff that Johnny Depp was in.

Yep! I had to buy a copy of Plan 9 From Outer Space, after seeing it!

My AG pastor, at the time, also liked it. Did anyone not like it, perhaps thinking it was preacher-bashing, or something?
BTW, if you want a very thought-provoking (and disturbing) movie dealing with a preacher and his family issues, check out The King. (Caveat: very dark, with "language" (if I remember right), violence, ickiness, etc., though. It's not for everyone.)

During the war, Irena saved 2500 Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto. So that she could reunite them with their families after the war, she wrote their name on a slip of paper, put it in a jar and buried it.
The most exciting thing about the students project was that they corresponded with Irena herself and were able to go over to Poland four times to visit with her.

No, I haven't seen it, but would love to watch it with my children.
My kids are interested in everything that deals with WWII. Ever since they found out their grandmother's brother was a POW in a concentration camp, they've become fascinated by anything on that subject.
Where can I find the movie. Did you order it?
Sinatra
