THAT is what is odd to me! I'm a light sleeper, though...I wake up if one of my kids coughs two bedrooms away. 
Still...you'd think the wife would have noticed SOMEthing. Who knows? Maybe she did, and either thought..."I must be imagining things", OR, some people have the ability to make you think you're crazy or paranoid or stupid if you bring something to their attention. Sneakiness & manipulation often go hand in hand.

The article said he reached around his wife. If she was sleeping, all it would have felt like was his arm around her.

I've slept through alot of stuff. Depends on how light or hard you sleep.

I don't know how a "woman" wouldn't be aware. The way we're wired I don't know how that could be going on and you not know something was out of whack.
Goodness, if my baby 3 doors down the hallway whimpered in the night, I heard. And I know.........she wasn't the mom of the girl in question.
Anyhow.......... like I say there are some things that just seem odd to me and not just about this situation in the bed either.
