Re: ***News Flash: Two more ministerial forums ???
Is this thread still going? Man, I wasn't sure if it had any life left in it.
Amos, great points. (Although I won't get many for agreeing with you)

It ran on a 28 day shut down cycle, and good debate was often lost in the estrogen laced atmosphere.
I find AFF to be more conversational with Scriptural debate shunted off to a dark corner somewhere that I don't seem to ever get around to visiting.
I like AFF. It's not FCF, and thankfully it's not NFCF, but I like it.

Great assessment. And no doubt your perspectives would be welcomed at JP.

Oh that's funny!
Someone please notify the authorities, newsflash, and send out a service public announcement!! The high thinkers are among us! The high thinkers are among us!
Does that help?? I guess if you say something enough someone is bound to believe it.

I believe they would.
Maple and I disagree on some things, but I have always considered him a classy, quality poster. Top shelf.

Do you really doubt that there are some higher thinkers around here? Personally, there are definitely some posters that I would prefer to interract with more than others. More than likely we are all like that to an extent.
(Lest anyone misunderstand, my recent postings here have been somewhat out of character. A tad more abrasive. But what do you expect from folks like me who are considered to be "less than initellectual" and "spiritual midgets?" "

While I would enjoy meeting both you and Amos, it wasn't me at General Conference.

Do we know each other?

Just out of curiousity, I employed a nifty little tool called "Advanced Search" to check out my posts.
The search engine couldn't find a single post where I used either the word "idiot" or "idiocy."
I did a search on bitter, and found a grand total of one post:

Here is the quote:

Of course you and Ferd make loads of sense.
But you have to keep in mind the fact that it is immensely more satisfying to a bitter person to compare Apostolic preachers to a bunch of homosexual rapists.
|
Here are the times I used the word "bitterness" :
Quote:
And the vast majority of Apostolic saints aren't pouring out horror stories of abusive, controlling pastors, either.
They are contentedly serving God, loving Truth, and living their lives.
It is only a tiny fraction that seek outlets for their bitterness...
And an even tinier fraction that have legitimate complaints, and nowhere to air them.

Quote:
Teenagers aren't supposed to be on here.
The ovewhelming majority of EC membership is kids.
And personally, I would strongly advise any saint that I pastor never to come here.
Too much deception and false doctrine, as well as bitterness and rebellion, gets promoted.
I enjoy reading and posting, but it is not something I would advise anyone who is not very, very strong in their faith to do.
|
Quote:
Bitterness can't be hidden.
It will always show, usually in some incredibly dumb manifestation.
|
Quote:
This is an incredibly broad-brushing and offensive statement.
You need to forgive and release those feelings of bitterness.
|
Now, Brother Charnock, I have almost 800 posts here.
Only a tiny fraction of my posts, less than 1%, are anything close to your description.
Could you perhaps have a perception problem?
Just a thought--when you wear mud-colored glasses, everything you look at looks dirty.
