For whatever reasons, Dan Scott took a thriving church in Phoenix and it was in shambles when he resigned. I think much of it was caused by installing his own brand of theology.

I fear for Christ Church.
Why in the world would CC want to vote him in as pastor with that background?

Pianoman and I had a conversatoin recently and this was our mutual conclusion. It should be interesting!

If Pastor Hardwick does actually step even further back in retirement I would think Dan would have to move pretty quickly to get an Associate Pastor in place.

We went from 3 Associate pastors down to none in just a couple of years! I miss those days with Phil Goldsberry, Paul Russell, and Dan Scott all as Associates.

Before he went to the Phoenix area he was at CC for 10 years and was greatly loved and highly thought of. He would have been in line to have taken over the church had he stayed.

CC experienced it's greatest growth and revival when Dan was here the first time.

Any idea of who or whom he would bring in there? I would find it hard to believe that he would bring in a trinitarian even though that is not totally bad, but it certainly will show the direction he is wanting to go. Who would you like to see in that postion? Same question for Pianoman.

I would like for it to be someone with a oneness background. I don't know who all is out there that might be a good candidate.

I think someone with a oneness back would at the very least keep things on an even level. There are lots of people that could fit that role, but finding the right one is tough. There are some that are Shokamooers and that might not play well. Then there are some that are not good enough to take on that role whether it is maturity or whatever. I would through my name in the ring there, but my wife would not let me..lol.

Re: Your experience when you dropped "dress standa

I dropped the big one by getting and keeping a television. I felt good in that I wasn't faking it as I had many years. I'd get up and scream against it as youth leader but behind the scene was watching it in motels, at friends home, etc. Now I watch the majority still claim to not have tv but they rent movies continually.

It was tough being hypocritical. I no longer live a lie.
