I always thought that once you received the Holy Ghost your were a witness for Jesus and should testify to the whole world. My Grandmother would tell everybody she met about Jesus.

God's Holy Spirit would no longer rest simply on isolated individuals as was the case under the old covenant.
In the Pentecostal age, all believers, regardless of gender, ethnicity or social status, would have full access to the graces of the Spirit and would speak the utte rances of God.
If preaching were to have been limited to men only, Joel would not have mentioned daughters in his prediction. He would have said instead, "In the last days, I will pour out My Spirit, and your sons will prophesy while your daughters serve quietly in the background and pray for the men." Copied

Glad you asked!
1Co 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1Co 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
As Sis Alvear likes to use Strongs...
A prolonged form of an otherwise obsolete verb; to talk, that is, utter words: - preach, say, speak (after), talk, tell, utter.
We know by the usage of speak in verse 28 it was not complete silence, it was how they were or were not meant to speak.
This is where the same term is translated preach in other passages.
preach, 1
Act 16:6
preaching, 1
Act 11:19
preached, 4
Mar 2:2, Act 8:25, Act 13:42, Act 14:25

Yes, I have noticed how selective you can be, since you dislike 1 Cor 14:34-35 lets try this passage.
1Tim 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
1Tim 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
Does this apply only to a married woman and her husband in the home?

Those two "women keep silent" verses shore are fun to play with!
... just trying to lighten things up RJR... surely you gotta sense of humor hiding in that serious mind somewhere?
