I am not Bishop W...perhaps you should contact him and ask him to answer your question, but I am sure he knows the voice of the Master.

I can only say that I know him to be a man of character and great strength.

As for your comment about Bro. Y...the originator of this thread stated that Bro. Y had already turned in his card. Now YOU are saying he will let the dues elapse so as not to have his name in the Forward.

Which one is fact and which one is speculation?!
Barb....FACT is Myles will not be part of the UPC (unfortunately). How that happens, whether he turned his card in or did not pay dues (which I am convinced the latter to be true)....he is out.

Why do you all give him this image of seeking power for the sake of power? If anything, he may have wanted a position where he could guide part of the org. back to a closer walk with God. With this new org. he doesn't have that kind of a purpose...
WHA??????????? Like WHO????????????

The "winner" DEFINITELY wanted the office and openly campaigned for it! Which has never happened in the last 40+ years in the WD - due to the fact that when Bro. Price resigned at District Conference, it was a total surprise and there was no time to "campaign". This time the DS resigned ahead of time - which allowed for promises to be made if certain people were voted in. The splitting of the District was one such promise.
The Southern California guys were not going to vote for Wilson. Abbey said he would support the formation and not stand in their way. HOWEVER, Mullings and Haney already gave their blessing to the formation which made everything happen in the first place. It was a meeting a few months later where Mullings resigned. The stamp of approval, from the Western District DS was already there. Abbey just said he would not do anything to change it. I can't say the same for the other.

True....as I said earlier...the SoCal guys (majority of them) were not going to vote for Wilson. Whomever was the next person would have received their votes. If it was Mullings and Wilson, Mullings would have received their vote. He supported their efforts and was not going to change what was already approved by the GS and DS months prior.

Must NOTE....the stamp of approval from the GS and DS (Mullings) was given months prior to the Campmeeting. At that time, Mullings was not even resigning. He resigned about a month before Campmeeting. The vote was gonna take place. Abbey said he would not change what was already given a nod by the Western District HEAD at that time. Besides...the formation of a new district was defeated in the WD, however, the majority of the SoCal wanted it....the General Board had the final say....and the formation of the new district occurred. The only difference would have been if Wilson was appointed DS and would have tried to totally BLOCK it from happening.

But, Socali, if he is just letting his dues elapse, technically he is not out YET.

I was under the impression by the opening post that it was a done deal...
