This was a real shocker to me when I was in too. Talk about going that-a-way

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I agree with you on this one, Elder. I always hated the affirmation. If I didn't believe what I believed when I first got my license, I'd leave.

For those who didn't believe or abide by the standards of the UPC, they'd just as easily be dishonest every two years on the affirmation as they were when they first were licensed.

For those who still believed the message, they didn't need to sign a contract every two years renewing their dedication.

So, it was pointless, in my opinion.

It's like my wife wanting me to take wedding vows every two years just to prove I still loved her. Pointless.

That would probably apply to the UPC as well, wouldn't it? They should have never left their "old paths" and listened to the likes of you, being held hostage to vague whims and ever changing tantrums.

The duplicity within much of the ministry of the UPC is striking.

There is an unhealthy focus on "holiness" but it's perfectly acceptable to lie.

I do not know any UPC ministers who truly agree with everything in the AOF.

Most UPC preachers watch Hollywood produced films, which is as big of a no-no as owning a TV. The majority of UPC preachers have Netflix, Vudu, or some other form of subscriber-based movie services. Many UPC preachers buy entire seasons of TV content.

Yet they all sign the affirmation statement.

Most UPC preachers follow organized sports.

Yet they sign the affirmation statement.

I could go on and on.

It's no wonder the org isn't growing. I highly doubt God is going to put His favor on a group that is so rife with hypocrisy.

This is the same as the Roman Catholic church

Listened to the likes of me?????????????????????????????

I never was in the UPC and if I had been I would have just been a lowly peon they would not have listened to me.
