JD thank you for your service to our country! My son is in the USAF and was recently in Israel on maneuvers for about three weeks. I prayed daily for his safety. If I were a betting man, my money would be on you would defend your wife and daughters even if it cost your life. But you know to admit that would undermine your pacifism when it comes to our nation and its military fighting evil men in the world seeking to destroy, rape, kill, molest, behead, burn alive, enslave, and blow up any and all infidels (thats you and your family).

The point is this, you cannot save your life. If your child was hit by a car while you were in a rural area with no way to contact help. You would do the bare minimum as far as medical if you had no medical skill. You would be calling on God praying like you never prayed before. No one gets a prayer life when the storm comes the prayer life has to be stored up way before the day of tribulation. Faith, and trust has to be built way before they put the bullet right behind your ear. Faith and trust has to be there way before your car gets run off the road by the tractor trailer while your baby is sleeping soundly in the back seat. There are people more than I would care to remember who were murdered and couldn't do anything about it. Where is your selfdefense in those situations?

My favorite banjo player "Stringbean" didn't trust banks so he kept all his money in his home. Two crackheads who were brothers tried to hold up Stringbean and his wife, Stringbean tried to fight off attackers but was murdered. While his wife tried to run to the neighbor's for help only to be caught and while she begged for her life she was murdered in cold blood.

DB people have tried to fight off the attackers some win and some lose.
The Middle East use to be Christian it was the birthplace of the religion.
They fought the Ottomans, but they were defeated. DB all we can do is pray for God's mercy, trust in God, because as the world around you collapses because of the overspreading corruption and move towards atheistic secularism, you will find that you have no other defense but God. Have you been working on that faith and trust in Jesus name?

Funny, my father never told me he was filled with the Holy Ghost when he fought in Europe during WWII. My wife's father in all his speeches, talks, in his books concerning WWII/Korean war, appearances on Network news, and the History channel never mentioned one time being filled with the Holy Ghost while he was fighting. What we need to examine is the whole idea of just war by an unjust people.

No sweet baby Jesus in sight, but no Holy Ghost filled troops fighting with a faith towards God while they fight in the name of Wall Street.
