Actually, my daughter did come talk to me first. She has shocked me in the past with other things, so she felt like she should let me in on this one beforehand. LOL! Her dad and I both talked to her, not just from a spiritual viewpoint, but from a professional viewpoint, but in the end she chose to do it anyway. I asked her if she had prayed about it, because I know that she is a real prayer warrior. She said that she had and that she felt like this was something personal between her and Jesus; that it is a constant reminder to her of who He is. Hard to argue with that!

Ashley is a great young lady and i can certainly attest to what you have said.

There is no scripture against the modern use of tattoos. Personally, I do think it should be an issue of moderation as far as society goes. Many professionals frown on the over abundance of tattoos that can be seen as far as a "marketing" aspect goes.

To use the "defiling the temple" scripture here (as was used in one of the "sermon links" from a church web-site earlier in this thread) is just wrong when the same people who use this against tattoos eat at McDonald's and drink Soda Pop (according to the pic of the pastor LOL). Fast food and high colesterol is more "defiling" and creates many more health risks than a tattoo ever thought about....

Awwww, does someone want to kick me out????

Moderation is the new buzzword for gutlessness. I never thought that the reasoning of 10-15 years ago, "In my opinion, Hitler was wrong, but he made choices that he thought necessary for his life...." relativism garbage...

Modern times call for modern religion??? Wow...what a world of pseudo apostolics. The refuse heap called relativism is invading pentacostalism...among other pagan rituals and beliefs...you guys have taken a token cop out, 'It's easier to gain forgiveness than it is permission," and turned it into gospel...

Congratulations, you are well on your way to...why not just start a new brand of religion called Laodicea?? Fits in fine here.

But it would be different if the "same people" were health conscious and consistent about what they put into and upon their bodies?

Actually not...IMO using the "defiling" scripture for food or tattoos is out of context...I was just saying that some use this verse to suit their opinion and call it doctrine, while at the same time pass over where they use liberality...

Read my post again please...I used the word "moderation" in a secuar sense...not in a spiritual sense...

You immediatly saw the church (religion) when I said "moderation" while I clearly said "society" and used the example of a business...

What's wrong with your eyesight? Maybe you should go to the doctor...or better yet:

Expand your paradigm!

What do you think the scripture about defiling the temple refers to?

(P.S. I agree with you on the health thing...if people are going to be health-conscious as a means of consecrating their bodies to God, then they shouldn't just abstain from the things that are convenient for them to abstain from.)
