I disagree. This is a Christian forum. Christians believe the Bible is inspired of God. Toleration of differences in minor issues like dress codes is acceptable. I think that is a given on THIS forum. Maybe not others. But I do not agree whatsoever that trying to subvert faith in the overall bible is comparable on a Christian forum to disagreement over dress standards.
Sorry, not the same thing at all.
Subtle manners of subverting Christian faith are perhaps more dangerous! My opinion.
Drat! He's on to me!

If it is then I think it is ethically wrong for the admins to have allowed him to stay... so they gotta take some of the blame too if that's true
Honestly I think if the admins had perhaps seen Timmy's overall agenda, especially in his signature that seems to portray an effort to subvert faith in the Pentecostal experience and belief, they would have not allowed him to post what he posts.
But, again, Timmy is a good person. He's got great sense of humour, and is kind. But to use that to more kindly subvert faith is a bit scary, in my opinion.
It reminds me of one brother in the Lord. He actually allows his younger kids to watch violence and sex in film, for the purpose of having them be exposed to it with him, since he reasons it's better than their exposure amongst sinners. I think that reasoning is way out of line, myself. So to say people will be exposed to those who subvert faith, so we might as well allow them on the forum, as notofworks suggested, is also way out of line.
Sorry for the diversion. But I did not mean to make this thread about Timmy. Sorry, Timmy. These guys just keep asking. Anyway, that is all I will say here. The admins can do what they choose. I personally would not allow this if I was an admin, as on my own forum. But that's just me.

And as long as you continue to point these things out (the bolded) I will be the president of your fan club (see my "Too Sensitive" thread). I am disgusted by the practice of barking endlessly about the "Power of the Holy Ghost" while, at the same time, making crude, tasteless, mean-spirited, and un-Christlike jokes about the mentally & physically handicapped and beating women!!!!
Not many seem to believe Romans 13:1-7, either. Someone actually said it was Hitler's favorite scripture!

Maybe I completely wrong, but I don't see that Timmy is here trying to "subvert faith". I think he enjoys asking thought-provoking questions, and I think he enjoys asking a simple question, have over a thousand views of that question, and then seeing that nearly everyone who claims to know the bible and follow it completely, unable or unwilling to answer the question. And undoubtedly, I think he's also reaching out and attempting to provide a safe place for any who might be here that are highly frustrated with pentecostalism in general by providing a link to "ex-pentecostals".
Sorry, not the same thing at all.
......in YOUR opinion. Many would aggressively disagree.

You could be right. They may be kicking themselves, now!

And I think this (the bolded) is what causes people, especially young people, to walk away from the faith in droves. We appear paranoid of dissenters and afraid of their arguments. We have the appearance of not being convinced enough about our faith to allow it to be questioned.
If I have a red car and someone wants to argue it's blue, I'll never have a problem with that.
I, for one, welcome Timmy's questions and even his doubts. I'm a Lead Pastor with a church that made up almost completely of recently unchurched people and I welcome and encourage them to voice and investigate their doubts. It's healthy. And if our values can't be fully investigated, we're just another cult pushing craziness.
I have no problem with people's doubts. But to push other folks to doubt is my issue.
