If you change only 180 degrees - - does that mean you've only half-way changed?
If someone changes completely - it's a complete 360.
It's combining terms that probably shouldn't be combined or that's how I see it.
If you are talking about walking directions, then a 360 would wind you up at the same spot going in the same direction.
"Doing a 180" is referring to someone going the opposite way. People misapply the 360 concept to make it complete when, in fact, all you did was go in a circle.
I've seen people say 'a complete 360' while turning their bodies completely around, but again, they are heading in the same direction. I'm not sure why that's so popular.....LOL!

nah you can turn 360 and not be facing the same direction. You just have to be inventive in how you do it
I should have just said he's done a complete turnaround and maybe been more correct.
However, if someone does a complete turnaround is that only 180 degrees?
If someone is facing you and you tell them to turn around, do they continue facing you, or face away from you?
But I know what you mean. As I said above, people will make that statement and turn completely around, still facing the same direction when their intent is to go the opposite way.
