That's good scripture there, OGIA. Let's just not be hypocritical in applying it to one thing, but not others.
Radio
Internet
Billboards
Newspapers
Magazines
It's fun to watch anti-television folks pick and choose what's "okay" and what's not.
I'm wasn't trying to proclaim the others to be "fresh", cr. I was rebutting the implication that TV is "heavenvision". Nothing that spews such trash -- in a one directional manner -- has anything to do with heaven.
The end does not justify the means, and we will not see the disaster for some time to come. JMO.

Ignorance of the Identity of the One True God is not a valid reason to practice idolatry.
what about a guy... any guy, who either owns a television or does not own a television, preaches about being vigilent and careful with television?
is that ok?
Preaching to be careful it totally fine that is not what I was meaning. Sorry if it came out that way. If someone who has a tv and preaches to watch out what you watch I think that speaks volumes to me. I mean we preach to watch for sins such as drugs and alcohol. But most of us have not ever taken part in that. Some have though. So I think that it all balances out. But preaching it is wrong, but you have one in the lake house or mountain cabin, that is horrible if someone that does not.

Whatever you give most of your time to concerning earthly works... over time you may become consumed by them... whether by accident or purpose.. and being so consumed whether it be Television, Internet, or Whatever your kids could pay the price spiritually down the road because of your actions...
It has happened in the past and will again.. None are perfect except He who died for our transgressions or sin so that we would be perfected someday before Him...
Had I said anything else but Television I wonder now what would have been the response.. and in some ways I wished I had now but what I wrote carried some weight...for some in heart and for some in the head..
The Story is not a Biblical account but centers around a Biblical acct.. just as Ben Hur or any other story...
That being said.. I never wrote watching Television killed the Child....I said What it provides for you Today can Cost you Tomorrow...
and Yes Television is addicting... for studies to come suggesting Children watch up 7 hrs of Television a Day.. That's 49 Hours a month... or 196 Hours a Month... Folks that may not be you... but that's a Large Percentage of America...
I will never preach that having Television will send you to Hell.. But if you become consumned by it... the lasting effects it will have will affect generations to come.. and that is a Fact...
And the Truth is a Large percentage of America is consumned by it.. If your not.. and you control what you watch or see.. Great...
But everybody can build an "INN" if they are not careful.. or watchful.. and wind up costing the one's they love a price they can't afford..

What started this thread was a great story and it end with goofy statement. I understand the message that is being sent be the story. The Bible talks us fighting what our fathers fought. But there is always a place where the cycle can stop. That is where the father in story comes in. It is our jobs as fathers to watch our family. But to twist that into pointing at tv as being the "Inn" that is a stretch. There are too many "inn's" in our lives.

You don't have to apologize or defend your statements...
Some will argue that poo doesn't stink just for the sake of trying to discredit YOU...
You wrote a great piece
