They know he could take them down and they were satisfied with that. Everyone at work loves him. He's kind and tough. That's what they want from a Christian man. That's what I want too!
So, let CS make hornets with his kids.

Ok for the sake of discussion:
A christian(CHRIST like) man must show he's still a man by not backing down from a fight?
So if Christian back down verses fighting he wouldn't be a man?
and if he did fight and happen to crack someones head, he can just walk away saying I was just being a Christian and a man??

Well, did you want the man to smash him in the face with the brick? - I don't think so. If the guy couldn't control him temper he needed someone to stop him. As you can see, my husband's words stopped him.
Did you want him to cry?

Excuse me? False piety? Is it false piety to as a QUESTION about what someone is saying?

There was no sin committed.

Go back to the statement to which I was responding and then look at my question in that context.
Quote:
Rigid adherence to all rules is UNNATURAL. Perfection is a goal to be attained by GROWTH and not by INSTANT attainment.
|
And trying to justify sin is acceptable? No one here said anything about instant attainment of perfection. The point you either missed or are trying to dance around is that our being imperfect does not justify doing what's wrong. As for your ridiculous comment about "rigid adherence," do you REALLY think God allows any flexibility when it comes to obeying His commands? Saul tried making your argument and God took his kingdom away from him. Uzzah was killed BY GOD because there was not "rigid adherence" to God's command.
Quote:
Yes. That is if he meant for that state of perfection was something to be instantly attained without the benefit of growth.
|
Again, NO ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT INSTANT ATTAINMENT!
Quote:
Jesus was not RANK NUT. Jesus was no IDIOT!
|
No one suggested any such thing.
Quote:
He knew full well that perfection was attained by wisdom, growth, guidance of which all is accomplished by love.
|
Again, NO ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT INSTANT ATTAINMENT!!!!!!!!!!!
Quote:
Instant transformation into a state of perfection is totally unnatural. Jesus did not have a limp wrist either. He probably made a few paper hornets himself when he was a boy. Yet, he never sinned.
|
Again, NO ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT INSTANT ATTAINMENT!!!!!!!!!!!
Quote:
Gracious! Some peoples attitude of Jesus make him so unnatural and far removed from his humanity when he was here among us, until he is perceived as some unnatural humanoid totally unlike any of us. No wonder some people never ever come to really relate to and come to know Jesus.
|
I call your attention to Hebrews 7:25-27...
"Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself."
Note also 2 Corinthians 6:17...
"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you."
Quote:
Believe me. Jesus made paper hornets. He probably had a few cow patty wars too when he was about nine or ten. So feel free to call it blasphemy.
|
Oh, yes, and some guy who one time said that Jesus used to sit with him and watch Laverne and Shirley or used to splash around in the swimming pool with him had a godly view of Jesus too!

The latest rage at their little country school is shooting "paper hornets" off rubber bands at one another.
This is of course a non-sanctioned activity as far as the teachers are concerned...but, like when I was a lad, it goes on.
Anyway, after abserving them making up supplies of ammunition in the evenings, preparing for the next day's battles, my mind drifted back to the days of my childhood, and of battles I fought and won in that very same arena.
I was an innovative kid, and always looked for ways to get the edge on the competition. This led to some pretty intensive research and development which in turn catapulted me into superpower status in the paper hornet wars.
So, desiring to be a good father, I sat down with my boys and had a serious conversation with them.
I asked them if they were fully aware of the fact that they were going to be in trouble with their teachers if they got caught shooting paper hornets...they affirmed that they were indeed aware.
I then asked them, in all honesty, if they planned to go ahead shooting them and take their chances...again, an affirmative answer.
My next question was, "Are you prepared to accept the consequences like men and not whine if you get nailed?"
They assured me that they were.
So, having cleared the preliminaries, I sat down with them to show them how to make the best paper hornets known to man, with several innovative features that will raise whelps of maximum size upon impact.
I know a little something about boys, and one of the things I know is that they are going to do these things. So, my philosophy is, if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.
Anyway, I showed them how to embed bb's in their paper hornets and wrap them with duct tape so that they can demolish the competiton.
Colton came home yesterday with glowing reports of glorious victories and total playground domination...
He says his buddy's all think I'm cool.
